Im worried, should i take my child to see a health visitor? shes 12months and doesnt...?

my daughter has just turned 12months and doesnt talk...

she only can say 1 word which is bye, but she doesnt say bye she just says ba, and waves when people leave.

she does babble and say mama and dada, but not intentionally.

If she can say "mama," "dada," and "bye" I'd say she's doing great! When she's 2 she'll be able to put words together to make a sentence, but till then reading is a great way to help her learn the language. One of mine talked as soon as he could, babbling nonsense and gradually adding words from being about nine months, the other didn't talk until at least 18 months. Both are normally intelligent now.

Children vary a lot and there is absolutely no need to worry - your child is normal. He will understand what you say , but not be ready to talk yet. Some children will use any words they know, while others will wait until they can come out with a whole sentence and surprise everybody And everything in between. It's completely normal. My Mom said that my Brother didn't talk until he was 12+ months. I think she said he was around 15 months. Until then ; he pointed + grunted at what he wanted! :-) He's a healthy, talkative 30 year old now. Hehe.

i wouldn't worry personally babies develop at different levels and you will have a routine check up with the health visitor soon. but if you worried take her so you can put your mind at rest.

My son only said dog at 12 months. Now he is 3 he talks non stop for 12 hours a day!!

Most babies don't say much at 12 months. Enjoy the silence while it lasts!
She is completely normal! No health visitor required!
she's fine, just continue to read a lot to her, and talk to her like she understands you.
Don't tell me you expect her to be spouting Shakespeare at just a year old?

id have her hearing checked to make sure thats not the reason.. but she,ll talkwen shes ready i wudnt be concerned
