I have placed my adult children on my health plan. If they don't pay their medical bills will it affect me?

If my adult children who are on my health plan don't pay their healthcare bills timely or at all, can it affect my credit because I'm paying for their insurance and providing them coverage?I have placed my adult children on my health plan. If they don't pay their medical bills will it affect me?Nope. THEY are responsible for the medical bills. The hospital/doctor will file a claim with the insurance company (yours) but it is CLEARLY STATED on every medical bill that insurance is filed as a courtesy, but that the PATIENT is ultimately responsible to pay the bill if the insurance does not.

So there's no way you would be held responsible for an adult child's medical bills UNLESS you go with them and sign the paper STATING that you are the responsible party. You should never do that!

It has nothing to do with paying the deductible. It's all about WHO owes the bills, and that's your kids.I have placed my adult children on my health plan. If they don't pay their medical bills will it affect me?how are they not going to pay? - for routine doctor visits, they usually require the co-pay right then and there and they won't get any prescriptions without paying at the point of pickup

even emergency room visits - any bills will be in THEIR name - the insurance card they resent will have THEIR name in it

if they don't pay, you drop them and make them deal with the real world themselves since they are adultsI have placed my adult children on my health plan. If they don't pay their medical bills will it affect me?Yes, because it is YOUR pollicy. You are responsible to pay the deductible for everyone using your insurance.I have placed my adult children on my health plan. If they don't pay their medical bills will it affect me?
