This is a question for those who use the "health problems with the child" argument in support of abortion?

Those children you guys talk about with health problems, I'm one of them and I knew another growing up. My parents were told I'd never walk or talk, that I was blind in 1 eye... Everything that was wrong turned out to be fixable and yes I put those 2 through hell for 4 years just trying to keep me alive... but here I am now living a happy and normal life. I got that chance because instead of taking the easy way out my mom stood her ground and fought for me. She sought out the best info and the best people she could to help me (and along the way convinced several docs she was a raving lunatic and a total *****) but my point is that turning tail and running or looking for the easiest road solves nothing and that I think women who abort for this reason are selling themselves and their kids short.

Now friend Matt who also had birth-defects (some of the same ones that I did but also a few I didn't) is sadly gone now but while he was here he showed people what it means to live, he turned everything into a positive, he loved everybody and he also was a fighter and defied the expectations of the adults in our lives over and over again (they said he'd never play sports, by the time he died he had taken his little league team to regional) He finally died of illness, a bad infection came and took him over the course of 2 days. His life was short and it wasn't easy but he made the most of it.

Do you people seriously think kids like us have no value and should be written off and aborted before we even get a chance? This is a question for those who use the "health problems with the child" argument in support of abortion?WOW....... Just WOW..... I am so blessed to have read your story.....

I have 2 stories to share : 1. a friend of mine, who's daughter got married and started a family right away found out, or so I am told, the baby had MANY problems and it was recommended to *terminate* the pregnancy... So she did, at around 3 1/2 months.... They induced labor, she wanted to be able to bury the baby... When the baby was born, the nurses who attended wondered, out loud, about the WHY, they saw nothing wrong with the baby... Supposedly the baby had spina bifida... and the heart was out side the body... I have never really heard the FULL story....

2. My nephew and wife found out their baby had all sorts of problems due to rare pregnancy problems.... They went through MANY test, etc.... months of agony finding out just what was going on... It meant bed rest, medicines, etc . for mom.... Months in bed..... But they WANTED this baby ....they took what God intended them to have.... A beautiful, now healthy, downs syndrome little boy, that we all LOVE and adore..... Not at any time did they consider *termination*.....

I do NOT understand the HOW could they, but I do understand the WHY some would consider it.... As bad and as painful and as much as it breaks my heart... Fear, depression, out side influences, such as parents, friends, etc... *sigh*..... But, again, thank you for your story.... go in peace.. That was very inspiring, I am sorry for your friend, I will pray for him as well as you as well as those who gave such chilling answers, their hearts must be granite. This is a question for those who use the "health problems with the child" argument in support of abortion?I am the father of a person with disabilities and I thank you for making the point that being disabled, to any degree and by any cause, does not make one second class or any less human than anyone else.

My son is 27yrs. old and was born with a very rare chromosome abnormality (so rare, in fact, that there is no name for it) that resulted in a number of disabilities.

Through him, God has taught me much about patience, compassion, empathy, tolerance, and love (just to name a few things); much more than I would have ever learned had he been born "normal". I cannot imagine my life without him or his sister (who is not disabled). God gives us "special needs" children for a reason. I believe that it is to make us better people. I hope and pray that I have not disappointed Him.

I'm sorry for the long answer, but it is a subject that really hits close to home.

It offends me to no end when someone even suggests that a baby, whose only "sin" is not being perfect, doesn't deserve to live, or at best is "optional". It disgusts me.

God Bless You!This is a question for those who use the "health problems with the child" argument in support of abortion?

No, genius, that is not what I think.

I think your mother had the right to choose whether or not you should have been born. This is a question for those who use the "health problems with the child" argument in support of abortion? What a powerful testimony. No civilized person would advocate putting a child to death for his or her health problems, but many think that prenatal health problems justify abortion. Of course, abortion is simply putting a child to death before birth.

I'm linking a powerful video featuring Gianna Jessen, who survived an abortion, and whose health problems were caused by the attempted homicide.

Our Father in Heaven permits the temptation of Masturbation to force us to choose ~ will we choose to pursue Him more, or our flesh? As often as we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive, but He will still permit temptations, call them opportunities, to seek His strength, and grow stronger, or strengthen the enslavement. We each must choose which master we will serve. One leads to greater bondage to sin, enslavement to things that will ultimately destroy body %26amp; soul in hell forever; the other path can get stronger too, when we embrace Jesus’ sufferings in our place and pursue a holy and pure life, without which no man will see the Lord. You make the choice.

Confess your sins to God and ask His forgiveness; He will! Then turn from your sins and turn *to* God proving your repentance is real. Trust Jesus took the punishment your sins deserved, on His cross (aka “believing in Jesus”). I have done this; so can you.

well congratulations for you, but not all conditions are like yours and not all conditions are treatable. instead of making some gross generalization we should look at it on a case by case basis if you want to go with the "health of the child" justification.

frankly making abortion illegal will be as effective as making pot illegal, you can't just simply change behavior by law alone, you have to tackle the root causes; poor sex education, and high costs of raising a child once you do that making abortion illegal will be as salient an issue as making skydiving without parachutes illegal.
