If im ordered to provide health insurance for my child, will the weekly amount my employer charges be credit?

say im paying 100 a week for child support, but the mother wants me to provide insurance as well, it will cost me 30 dollars a week to add my child, will the court count that as a credit and deduct 30 from the 100?If im ordered to provide health insurance for my child, will the weekly amount my employer charges be credit? No, the health insurance is separate from the support. If im ordered to provide health insurance for my child, will the weekly amount my employer charges be credit? It depends on what is stipulated in your child support order.

If the order says you are to pay $100 a week in support AND provide insurance for the child - then the two are seperate entities.

If the support order does not stipulate to the insurance issues, and this is something the mother is asking for aside from child support then I suggest you take it back to court and get an agreement in writing as to what is paid to whom.

If you just start shorting checks by $30 then you could end up in arrears on child support. If im ordered to provide health insurance for my child, will the weekly amount my employer charges be credit? They will not count that as support. If the courts did not tell you, you were responsible for the insurance on your child. I would go back to court to get this all straightened out. I am not saying do not take care of your child. Obviously you need to do that. But take care of yourself as well.

What can a person do for health insurance when pregnant?

I was recently fired, and now I am pregnant. Since I now have a much lower income what are my options for cheaper or free health insurance? I know theirs medicaid I was wonder if theirs any other options. Can any one help me out? I am freaking out about my unborn child's health. What can a person do for health insurance when pregnant? You can buy Cobra insurance for up to 18 months through your company HR dept. You could go to a low income community clinic or public health service where they will only charge you a nominal fee based on your income. If you are very low income and pregnant you might get Medicaid for pregnancy in your state. Check with your county social services. What can a person do for health insurance when pregnant?Call that insurance company and ask them about a Cobra transitional insurance plan if your company HR is not available to ask. For a pregnancy they might have an exception to your losing the insurance.

Does the health care overhaul really include legislation to give illegal alien children health coverage?

and i do not want any obama bashing, nor obama praising. I want facts. cite me a credible source.Does the health care overhaul really include legislation to give illegal alien children health coverage?Well, there are three separate proposals, only one is written by our President. The other two are written by two separate legislatures. So we have three on the table, I believe one of them does, but I am not sure. However, Many states such as Oklahoma have passed laws such as H.B. 1804 into law that prevent it. Below is a link that I love, it is a side by side, overview of all three different proposals, I think all three have some great points in them and few draw back. I personally believe we must have health care reform for our economy to get better.

Take a look and form you own opinion, If you like one of the three, then get involved in educating others about it, so that we can combat the lies and propaganda that is being spread. I love Presidents Obama's proposal,Does the health care overhaul really include legislation to give illegal alien children health coverage? No.Does the health care overhaul really include legislation to give illegal alien children health coverage?Amendments to require them to show ID were voted down by Dems in Committee. Since those illegally here have no problem pretending to legally be here, particularly if they know you can't ask for proof, I would call that a yes even if the provision for them isn't in the bill explicitly.

But the kids are covered the same 'don't check' way already under the Dem kids plan they passed earlier this year. It is the adults who aren't.

Does health care cover child birth and..?

ok my g/f is 2 months pregnant and i would like to know if my health care would cover child birth? i have blue cross blue shield. also what would i be paying for child care when the baby is 1yrs old. I make 60k per year and she makes nothing. and i need some sort of estimate thank you all :)Does health care cover child birth and..?Best thing to do is talk to your Insurance Department at work and find out what is covered and what isn't. Just because you have Blue Cross Blue Shield, doesn't mean your insurance is the same as someone else who has that type of insurance. It all depends on what kind of coverage your company is paying for.Does health care cover child birth and..?Is your girlfriend on your blue cross blue shield? If she is, then yes, childbirth would be covered. If she is not, and the two of you live together, you may be able to add her as a domestic partner if that is something that is offered by your company. If she is not on your policy and cannot be added childbirth (and pre-natal care) would not be covered since you are not the one having the baby. You can add your child to your health insurance once he or she is born.

As far as child care is concerned, it varies depending on where you live and the age of the child. I paid $125 a week for my son when he was 18 months old, but it would have been about $200 a week if I put him in child care when he was 12 months. The younger they are, the more it usually costs.

Is my child's health at risk if my puppy has tapeworms?

i googled tapeworms and that's what my puppy has is my sons heath as well as me and my husbands health at risk?????Is my child's health at risk if my puppy has tapeworms?Yep. They can be transferred. De-worming is very important and you need more than one. Vet time.Is my child's health at risk if my puppy has tapeworms?
wash your hands and keep you son away from him.

go to the vet and get de-wormerIs my child's health at risk if my puppy has tapeworms? As long as you don't get the dogs feces in your mouth (child touching it outside, dog licking himself then your face) you will be fine. Get your dog to the vet asap to worm him. There are over the counter meds for worms, but my vet told me that over the counter wormers don't work nearly as good as the ones they have... they could have just been going for more money out of me though...
wow tapeworms... that's one sticky situation...

sorry i couldn't resist. Is my child's health at risk if my puppy has tapeworms? If your dog has tape worms more than likely it has or had fleas as that is how they get them. Make sure you treat that also.

I took in a stray who had pups and was concerned abt my son getting worms...vet and pediatrician assured me that it is extremely rare and not to be concerned at all. Just make sure you wash ur hands after handling their feces. Is my child's health at risk if my puppy has tapeworms?
Only if you let it EAT DOGSHI*!!!!!!

So..........DON'T!
Yes, you can get tape worms from ingesting the eggs. Go see the vet %26amp; get a de-wormer, dont forget to steam clean any carpets, little pieces of the tape worm will come out of the dog, fall to the floor, %26amp; die ( covered in the tape worm eggs). Is my child's health at risk if my puppy has tapeworms?
I wouldn't say your health is at risk. But you can get worms from the feces, if you ingest it. Practice good hygiene, wash your hands after handling the puppy, and keep your hands away from your face. Take the puppy to the vet and get him wormed. The store bought stuff can be dangerous (risk of overdosing the pup, not getting all the worms). If your son is very young, keep the puppy out of his reach or watch your son closely. You want to keep those little fingers away from his mouth. Check out this website, and check in at the vet's office. If you somehow manage to ingest worm segments or fecal matter, your doctor can give you medicine to get rid of them in no time, with no time off from work!
Tapeworms can be picked up by humans. If your pup has been to the vet recently you can usually call and as long as theyhave seen the pup and know its weight they will let you pick up some cestex or whatever your vet uses.Tapeworms are caused by the dog chewing on its skin that has to have fleas. If your pup has not seen the vet, it may need some care other than worm and flea care. I would call the childs pediatrician and let them know what is going on. Good Luck!

  • Legal question about child support. is health insurance incluede or a seperate issue?

my ex (was mever married) has been payiny 500.00 a moth in chlid support. i always paid her health insurance. did not think that the 500 was part of what i paid for her insurance. she had no insurance for 7 months because i was layed off. he has taken it on his own to add her to his insurance and now says the i will get less per month becuase i have to pay half. i was in the process of getting her insurance on my own through fla kid care which would cost about 15.00 per month. does he have the right to decrease her child support?Legal question about child support. is health insurance incluede or a seperate issue? If there is a court order, he must abide by the court order. if the court order permits his deducting insurance cost from the child support then he can.

If there is no court order, he can do pretty much anything he wants.Legal question about child support. is health insurance incluede or a seperate issue? If it is a court ordered child support situation, then no, he cannot just decide to lower it himself. Insurance should have been mentioned in that order, also. As to whom would be responsible for paying it.Legal question about child support. is health insurance incluede or a seperate issue? Is there a court order? If so, it goes by that until he legally goes in and gets it changed to take off some insurance. and it would not be ALL the insurance he pays. If he pays insurance at $200 a month - and there are 3 people in the household - you would divide it by 3 and that would be the amount they would use to figure a NEW child support amount.

So, NO, he can NOT just take off the insurance on his own. maybe you should go through the C.S if you aren't already. If you are - I'm sure they will make sure he pays the right amount or they will go after him after he gets behind.

I have had some health problems that has prevented me from having one more child?

I have three, very thankful for and not trying to be greedy by wanting one more. I know my children are a gift from God. So i have been praying about if it was Gods will that he wanted me to have one more. And just felt like yes i was going to have one more. But really wasnt sure if it was my own wishes or God speaking to me.

So i said God if this is you please let this message come thru someone else like my mother for instance knowing my mother would be the last person who would mention another child knowing my health. I lost a baby a couple years due to a blood clotting disorder. I am able to have another child but my health would be at risk.

Anyway while visiting her today she said i had the strangest dream she said i dreamed you had another baby. and my mom just isnt the type to talk about dreams.

Could this be my answer to my prayers?I have had some health problems that has prevented me from having one more child?I think if you are praying for God's will to be revealed you should ask for and expect that it will not need to be interpreted or analyzed and instead look for it to be crystal clear. Anyone looking for a "sign" usually finds or makes one if that's what they want to find! Be patient for God to show you want He wants...you have 3 children who need their mother, risking your health for another doesn't seem prudent, but God is the author of life, so if another comes your way you must also ask Him to guard your health so that you can give to all 4 what they need from a healthy mom. God bless.I have had some health problems that has prevented me from having one more child?
Yup. But be careful what you wish for. Your health will be in danger. You better be very careful and watch your health very closely. You might have to become a health and exercise fanatic during that pregnancy. Your babies need a mother. It would not be good to bring in a child that loses it's mother.

I also think you should Report Abuse on any answers you find insulting.I have had some health problems that has prevented me from having one more child? No. Your hormones are very loud in your ears, but you must not confuse them with God. As several have pointed out, in our current ecological state, it is irresponsible to have large families. Earth is already in an unsustainable place with regard to human population.
Or perhaps a sign that you and your mother have a great connection between you.

Best of luck though, if you have another or try for one, I hope all goes well.

(My gosh people, how dare I suggest a strong bond between mother and child, how awful...)I have had some health problems that has prevented me from having one more child? It could be and it might not be. While I don't claim to be very religious I am spiritual, and I do pray alot and trust in god. But your health is more important, so go in for tests and if they are good then its God's will. Remember, he will never let you walk aloneI have had some health problems that has prevented me from having one more child?
There's this new thing called a pregnancy test, and it's probably more accurate than a dream.
That is your answer. There are always risks with pregnancy but he has told you what to do. So good luck I will pray for you.I have had some health problems that has prevented me from having one more child?
Stop breeding. Don't you know the world is overpopulated?
No. Why are you trying to overpopulate the earth? What is all this I want, I want stuff? You've got one more than you should have so stop now.
The world has enough children. We should work on feeding the ones we have now and stop behaving like rabbits.
First I want to say that I don't agree at all with the people who are going on about how the earth is overpopulated and how having a large family is irresponsible. I love large families, they give children a chance to grow up in a large, loving support system. I am only 17, but I want to have a big family when I get older and I commend any women who has the strength to raise one child, let alone more.

Unfortunately, I cannot give you a definitive answer to your question, that is between you and God. It sounds like you have done the right things, praying for an answer and then asking for a reassuring sign.

Your mothers dream sounds like an answer, but you need to understand that God's plans are different to our plans. Remember Sarah, God promised her a child but she didn't give birth until very late in her life. God could be telling you that you will have another child, or he could be telling you that you are going to become a mother in other ways. Maybe you should pray about adoption or maybe you will become a motherly mentor towards a younger woman. I cannot know, that is between you and God.

Just remember to keep on praying, an open and growing relationship with God is vital in living out God's plan for your life. I wish you the best of luck with your beautiful family, and with any additions God may choose to add.

I hope that you will never feel guilty about wanting another child. Wants are natural, and God wants us to want the things that are good. Children are good, and it makes perfect sense for you to want more. This would only become a bad thing if you let the want take over your life or interfere with your relationship with God.

    God bless,

    xoxoxo
I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I don't think a loving God would want to you to endanger your health for a child you feel you'd be greedy in wanting.

I'm not going to mislead you, I don't think God sent that dream to your mother. And to me it sounds like you're undecided if you want another child, but at least some desire is there.

I'm not going to put words in your god's mouth, by saying maybe he's saying you should look into adoption. I'll say it. Don't risk your heal/life. There are lots of children that need homes. Troubled kids that need love. Not all of them are cute babies, some are already older with issues. I'm jumping to conclusions a little bit (which is unfair of me) in guessing that you're Pro-life, and I'm of the opinion that pro-lifers should always consider adoption before procreating.

It's at least something to talk to your spouse about and pray about before going through a risky pregnancy.
Jesus is God and Savior :) Maybe it is an answer from God about this issue, but either way, with or without another child, make sure you believe the right things about the Lord Jesus and salvation :)

Jesus loves you so very much! :D

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus alone for salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what! Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus alone to save you! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

How long does a child stay on health insurance?

A friend of mine if technically considered a independent in Texas but here is the story: her mother got pregnant by her cousin they did DNA testing the whole 9 yards there is a .05% chance he isn't the father. Her biological mother lost coustity of her and her father got full coustity but the biological mother pays child support. Around 12 she was bitten by a brown recluse and wasn't treated for 3 weeks because her stepmother hates her because she is proof her husband slept with another women, they where not married at the time, she ended up being treated because she passed out in school and the nurse found the bite already destroying her knee. After they sent her to the hospital her step mother told her family the doctors said no visitors however it was later discovered she was trying to force her away from all people so she would be "trained" when the doctor finally got curious and called her aunts and asked why they didn't show up it was all revealed. The stepmothers father ended up taking my friend they didn't call the police because they didn't want it worse for my friend. She turned 18 December and hasn't graduated high school yet and her biological mother lost her job and can't pay child support. So her step mother said she didn't have to pay health insurance and already dropped her off her insurance. Is that legal? How long does a child stay on health insurance? It's not illegal (as of yet!) to not provide health insurance for your child even when under 18, although it's irresponsible. It is no where near illegal to NOT provide health insurance for an ADULT 18+. She's 18. She needs to find a job that offers benefits like the rest of us. Sometimes even part time jobs offer some. How long does a child stay on health insurance?
The only part of your very long paragraph that actually matters are that "she turned 18" and that it is the stepmother's health insurance. The entire rest of the story is irrelevant. No one is required to pay for health insurance for anyone who has turned 18.

A child cannot be kept on the health insurance of another person without that person's consent.

A child stays on health insurance until age 26 or when the person whose health insurance is covering the child decides to drop the child, whichever comes first. How long does a child stay on health insurance?~~Yes it is legal. A parent can keep them insured but it is their prerogative. That poor kid.~~How long does a child stay on health insurance?
Stephen is correct. She is 18 and the biological mother is no longer required to pay child support (employed or otherwise) nor is the step mother required to provide insurance. How long does a child stay on health insurance?Yeah, it's legal. How long does a child stay on health insurance?
Yes, her step mother is not required to cover the child with health insurance.

Why would the step mother who has no physical relationship with the child, ever be required to cover the child's insurance?

The rest of the story doesn't add up - the girl in the hospital and the doctor calls non-custodial relatives... it would never happen.
huh? Sounds more like a Springer show...what are you asking?

    Cancelling my child's health insurance....?

I am a single mom of one son and only have my income to rely on. No child support. I pay $100/mo. for my son's insurance premiums, which I know is not a lot, but if I were to drop his health insurance, I could apply for Peachcare (GA) after 6 months of him being uninsured. I work for the local hospital and they give great assistance to uninsured patients, and they also payroll deduct medical bills in small increments (interest free) so I would not have to pay the entire bill in full. Last year, I paid $1222 in premiums and he only went to Urgent Care once for a bloody nose which totaled $180 before insurance paid! I just need some thoughts about my decision, please. He would only be uninsured for 6 months, so it's not like I'm taking him off for a year or more. Is this a mistake or is it just a gamble?Cancelling my child's health insurance....?Couple of thoughts (I'm a broker here in GA): PeachCare for Kids is a great plan and if you can get him on it you won't be able to do better. On the other hand, you are sorta' gambling that nothing serious (%26amp;, therefore, expensive) will come up. Another alternative would be to get a plan on him that's less costly ($100/month for a son seems high to me). Given the amount of health care he seems to have had (not much), then I suggest a plan with a higher deductible and, therefore, a lower premium. Even with a high deductible, like $2500 or even $5000, he will still be able to go to a network MD and only have to pay a copayment of $30 or $40 for the office visit. (The premium, depending on age, etc. would probably be in the range of $50-75/month.)

If you'd like to see some specific quotes on individual health insurance for him, please visit our website where you can run them yourself (see below).Cancelling my child's health insurance....?I have to agree with the others that going without is a big risk. You should ask Peachcare what happens if he does incur a claim in that six month period--some state medicaid programs have a look back period, so they will cover claims incurred during a break time.

You are the only person who can make this decision. There's no shame in accepting assistance for health care for your children.Cancelling my child's health insurance....?What's the difference between a mistake and a gamble, if he breaks his leg and needs surgery and you have a $75,000 medical bill?

NO WAY would I have my child go uninsured. And for $100 a month, private doctors have a much shorter wait, than welfare doctors.Cancelling my child's health insurance....?
Jo, are you a lucky person? 6 months is a long time in the kid world. Broken arm, or leg, god forbid cancer. Medical debts are the second leading cause of bankruptcy. I'm not a lucky person, i would not take the chance.

What are the health risks of putting a child in a vehicle that heats up to 104 -110 degrees for 90 Mins ?

yesterday while waiting to pick my son up from school a security officer told me I was not allowed to open my sliding van doors for ventilation for my 4 year old daughter, Because of that my van heated up to 104 degrees. by the time I got my son and got home my 4 yr old had stopped sweating even thought she had 2 bottles of ice wter to drink. I have no AC in my van at this time. when I went in this morning to talk to the Vice Principle, I was basically told that it was my problem not hers but that if it was an animal in the vehicle she would call the cops for animal crulety. What do you think I should do?What are the health risks of putting a child in a vehicle that heats up to 104 -110 degrees for 90 Mins ?Well first you should think - gee, why did I not just get out of the car? And gee, if you aren't sweating, that means you're dehydrated?

After you make steps to NEVER let this happen to your child again, then you can file a complaint with the Administrator. If you get no where go to the school board.

You might also want to talk with the local police to have a chat with the school. What are the health risks of putting a child in a vehicle that heats up to 104 -110 degrees for 90 Mins ?Health risks? Uhhhhhh...DEATH!!!! Use your brain; park your van, take your daughter out, and go inside the school to get your son. Then make a report to the health dept. ot the school board. Why would you go 1 1/2 hours early to pick up your son anyway? If you don't know the dangers of having kids in hot vehicles, you don't deserve custody of them. What are the health risks of putting a child in a vehicle that heats up to 104 -110 degrees for 90 Mins ?okay first of all it is your vehicle and no one can tell you what to do. Also it isnt even illegal to dirve without doors as long as you are secured. think of it like a jeep. Plus it would be child endangerment to stay in a vehicle for that long. my suggestion would be look for a tree to go stand under with your child while waiting for the other. Take a small blanket to sit on. Make the best of your situation and remember its your kid, your van, so dont let some jack *** tell you different.

Step child and private health insurance, already covered under medicaid?

My husband has joint custody and decision making over his daughter. Her mother has her insured under medicaid, but refuses to give the doctor name, location of office and any medical information to the father, even though it's outlined to notify him under court orders.

Since we don't have any doctor information nor any way to take the child in to the doctor with insurance if we need to when she is in our care, I want to add her on to my private health insurance with me and her father. I have asked the mother if we could do that, and she declined due to the fact that she has no co-pays with medicaid. My husband had contacted a doctor office 2 years ago to find out about the information he would need in order to take his daughter in to the doctor, and he was told he can't without the mother's permission. Really? Permission??

He asked her again recently where his daughter's doctor office is and who the doctor is, and she replied that she had lost the papers and no longer has that information, so she can't give it to him. My step daughter has told me when she goes to the dentist, and when she has a doctor appointment, so we know she still has gone.

Would we be able to cover my step daughter under my insurance without interfering with her mother's lack of co-payments? if medicaid is a secondary form of insurance, will it take care of the primary insurance co-payment? How would we be able to go about doing this?Step child and private health insurance, already covered under medicaid?Dad should be able to contact medicaid, with daughter's name, date of birth, and social security number, and get a duplicate copy of the card.

Failing that, he can bring mom to court, and make the judge order her to disclose the information.

If dad has joint medical custody with mom, he needs to show that paper to the doctor, to get the release of information.

In any case, you CAN add stepdaughter to your health insurance during the next open enrollment; if mom doesn't declare that to medicaid, she's committing medicaid fraud; it very well COULD jeapordize the medicaid coverage, and if medicaid is secondary, it will pay the copays from the primary insurance.Step child and private health insurance, already covered under medicaid?
Thank you so much, that was very informative. That's what I've heard before, regarding paying the copays. She is in the low income bracket, though my husband and I are not. I wanted to keep my step daughter out of the taxpayers' pockets as much as I can. Thank you again for your knowledge.

Step child and private health insurance, already covered under medicaid? This is fraud. She has the ability to put the child on real insurance but chooses to not do that. All because she would rather not pay copays. But, it is fine that the rest of us pay copays and have them increased and have our taxes increased to pay for people like her.

The reason your ex doesn't want you to know about the medicad coverage is that she probably wouldn't qualify for it if the state knew about your child support and your ability to pay for coverage. What happen when cousins marry? In there married life any problem should happen manly about child birth?

    And about child health?

Because the lady who I am going to marry she is my (mothers- younger sisters daughter) cousin

So pls help me to know more about this

    I want to marry her….

thanksWhat happen when cousins marry? In there married life any problem should happen manly about child birth? Not illegal in our countries.

It holds a higher risk that the common children will be handicapped.

But not as high as with brother/sister or Father daughter which is illegalWhat happen when cousins marry? In there married life any problem should happen manly about child birth?
I think its up to the cousins. what problems arise from they'll have to deal with.**** I AM IN THE PLAYPEN WITH SWEET MILDRED***What happen when cousins marry? In there married life any problem should happen manly about child birth?Honey you are a weirdo okay!! Do not marry your cousin...that's just desperate. Your kids will be deformed and have mental problems. How does ur family feel bout this? That is not okay. There are plenty of other chicks out there
You have asked this question four times in the past hour.

You are either a Troll or the product of two closely related people.

Ask again and you will be reported. What happen when cousins marry? In there married life any problem should happen manly about child birth? That country is bad, then.

And yes, the child is likely to come out seriously damaged. What happen when cousins marry? In there married life any problem should happen manly about child birth?
Any children you had would genetically be fine. It would only be if they had children with their cousin and it continued like that for a few generations. Then there might be genetic abnormalities. But any kids you have should be fine.
You want to marry your first cousin... Don't know where you're from . That is illegal in the U.S.A. because of possible birth defects the children can have . No diversity in the gene pool. Any family defects will be enhanced in your child .What happen when cousins marry? In there married life any problem should happen manly about child birth?
If people get married that are closely related children can have health problems. The problems may be genetic or they could be mental. If it's legal in your country to marry your cousin that's your decision.

I would be concerned about health problems but I also would feel strange having a family member be my husband. As a child I always dreamed about meeting my husband and bringing someone new into my family. For me meeting someone new is part of marriage. Marriage is two people coming together to create a new family.

Any one been to camh (child, adolescent mental health)?

My doctor has sent me to camh for anxiety and i dont know what it likes or what happens, has any one been them selves?Any one been to camh (child, adolescent mental health)?its camhs*. It is a service for children and teenagers, you to there and talk to a phyciatrist/councellor. They talk to you about your problems and try and get you to recover, and you go there to be diagnosed with a problem aswell. They just make appointments and see you weekly or fortnightly. They may also refurr you to other services.

Im with camhs, and i see a phyciatrist nurse and a phyciatrist doctor once a week, they have diagnosed wme with moderate depression and ptsd, they've put me on flueoxtine (anti-depressents), and they have refurred me to 'Bridgeway project' and 'Outreach', i also have a social worker, and you may also be refurred to some other companys like me to xAny one been to camh (child, adolescent mental health)?I've been there. they can be good, most places would have some nice people who want to help. it's nothing to be scared about.

they're basically the public health systems mental health care for people under 18. they have teachers, psychologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, and probably other people. they're also like the outpatient care for people who have been in hospital.

they do therapy, psychiatric assessments, teaching, and most likely a whole other list of other things that I've never been involved with..

^^ is what I've gathered from my own experience btw. you should probably ask the person you see more about it.

though just so you know, they're very different to private practice. when it's in your file, anyone who has a connection to your case will have access to it. at least they did with mine, which I hated.. but, it's not something that you should worry about. if you're there for therapy, you should only see one person, and it will remain with that one person.

hope you find it helpful. don't worry too much, it's a great opportunity to get better!

  • What should come first - a child's health and wellbeing or their academic performance in schoolwork...?

If a seven-year-old child has been up much of the night and been having nightmares and is still looking peaky should the *first* thing a parent do is to ask him to fetch his schoolbag so she can see what homework he has and then tell him that they are going visiting today and he will have to sit and do the homework on Sunday upsetting the child after he has been relaxed at last after a troubled night and leaving him in tears as they get into the car?

Shouldn't a child's health and welfare (which includes his state of mind which affects physical health too especially if sleep is disturbed) come ahead of schoolwork which he can catch up with anytime.

I never made my boys do homework if they were sick and I would never have allowed the school to pressure them so at the age of seven anyway.

What sort of world are we creating for our children by putting them under such pressure - and shouldn't parents be resisting that not adding to it?What should come first - a child's health and wellbeing or their academic performance in schoolwork...?ok well im going into 8th grade

and well im so stressed my hair is falling out (im a girl so thts not good)

    and school starts 2morrow

and im bullied bad...so i now how the little ones feel about being mentally tired!!What should come first - a child's health and wellbeing or their academic performance in schoolwork...?Health and well being certainly come first in my book. If my son's school over pressured him (I mean OVER pressured) then I would have to talk to the teacher or principal. Homework is not detrimental to a child's health but too much homework can keep a kid from having their natural outlet of after school play and relax time. There needs to be a healthy balance. What should come first - a child's health and wellbeing or their academic performance in schoolwork...?The former, definitely.

It's no good being top of your class, and A* in all your exams, if it destroys your health. Health comes first. Education can always be 'caught up.'

Mandatory reporting of abuse of child during mental health session?

Could someone help me to understand this law, given this scenario? It's for a course that I am taking.

A parent goes to a mental health provider, to seek treatment. During this initial meeting, the parent states that they have hit their child one time, and that is what drove them to seek counseling. The parent had an abusive childhood, and is determined to stop the cycle. Their goal is to find alternative ways to deal with anger, and to never hit the child again. The child is a teenager (I'm not sure if that matters). There is no prior history of abuse in their family; the parent recognizes the problem, is genuinely seeking help. Other than this one instance, the parent/child have a very good relationship.

The question is - does the mental health worker report this past abuse as a "mandated reporter"? Does it fall under the guidelines, or is it treated differently (remains confidential) as it was a one time incident and the parent is seeking help on their own?

This takes place in Massachusetts, here is a link to the "Mandated Reporting" law.

http://www.macucc.org/leadership/documen鈥?/a>Mandatory reporting of abuse of child during mental health session?Exceptions to Confidentiality

In Mass. law, there are several exceptions to the confidentiality of psychotherapy (see the details of these laws, below).

Three of these exceptions to confidentiality concern harm to self or others:

    鈥?br>
    Where there is a reasonable suspicion of child abuse or elder adult physical abuse;

    鈥?br>
    Where there is a reasonable suspicion that you may present a danger of violence to others;

    鈥?br>
Where there is a reasonable suspicion that you are likely to harm yourself unless protective measures are taken.

In all of the above cases, the psychotherapist is either allowed or required by law to break confidentiality in order to protect you, or someone you might endanger, from harm.

Weird question but what legal and health consequences would there be if two couzins had a child?

just because we were curious what effects will this have on the child and would the parents go to jail or what would happen and please no rude comments its just a questionWeird question but what legal and health consequences would there be if two couzins had a child? If they're both over 18 I think it would depend on the state as to if there's anything legally wrong with it.

If the two are related by blood there might be more chances of birth defects and diseases.Weird question but what legal and health consequences would there be if two couzins had a child? The legal part depends on where you live. Healthwise, there is a slightly higher risk of genetic diseases due to a recessive gene. That also depends on how closely the two are related.

Describe the importance of safety health and nutrition in a child care facility.?

I am not sure if this a question for an assignment or not so I am not going to answer the question for you but here a few ideas that need to be considered.

It is important that a child care centre is safe and healthy for children to play in and there is nothing that is broken if so it needs to be reported to management to get fixed.

Any accident or incident is recorded so that it can be looked at a reviewed and corrected if necessary

There are no dangerous objects that children, can hurt themselves on.

The kitchen door is firmly locked at all times so that the children cannot have access.

    Nutrition

    Clean and healthy kitchen

    healthy and nutritious meals

..Describe the importance of safety health and nutrition in a child care facility.?- ensure and promote safety and health of the children

    - maintain a safe and clean working environment to promote learning

    - you're responsible for the children, you don't want anything to happen to them

    - you don't want them to get sick and spread germs

    - nutrition promotes learning (eating carrot sticks vs potato chips will help brains develop and pay off in the long run)

If you are that naive to blame EVERYTHING on Bush, then you are in for a real shocker when a Democrat is elected President. There was nothing wrong with the SCHIP veto. Don't buy into the "you don't care about the children" crap coming out of the mouth's of Democratic Congress people. My short answer, 'no'. Not unless the next President and Congress take action to uncover and expose the truth... whatever that may be. This administration has been very secretive, subversive and has diverted attention on multiple occassions in order to avoid scrutiny and close examination. Whether this is truly based on National Security or not is anyone's guess at this point.

All the public can do is demand answers, after all - we are the ones who pay the bills (in the end). The Plame matter, Iraq, OBL, Guantanamo, detainee torture, extraordinary rendition, government contractor scandals, missing weapons and money in Iraq, etc... - all of these issues have not been fully examined, exposed and rectified to the American taxpayers. Like I said, we may never know unless we hold our representative government officials accountable for finding the answers.

Child's Health Insurance through military father...?

If my son has had his health insurance through his father's employer (military tricare) since he was born, and we have not yet got a divorce, is there any way I can request that the child stays on that insurance? Or does the father have to have custody of the child in order for him to have that insurance? Thanks for your answers in advance.Child's Health Insurance through military father...?A child does NOT have to live with a parent to be covered by their Tricare. Make sure it is written in to your divorce agreement that the father will continue to provide medical insurance for the child, just to make sure there won't be any problems in the future.

"NO your child can not have health insurance!"?

Last week it was the case of a 4-month old child being denid health insurance for being overweight. Now a 2-year old is being denied health insurance because the health insurance company think her size and weight is not right for a child of her age. This is despite doctors saying the child is fit and healthy!

This is just ridiculous and goes to show the state of our healthcare system when the insurance companies make their own minds up and dont even listen to the advice of doctors. Close them all down I say or at least start fining them when they make outrageous decisions like this!"NO your child can not have health insurance!"?The girl in question is perfectly healthy and has only suffered a cold in the past. She is rated in the 30% for height and weight for children her age. The insurance company wants 50% as the standard, their news release says they are following industry standards in setting their requirements at less than 20% deviation from norm. So if you are petite or tall, you are uninsurable according to this insurance company.

A prime example of why we need health insurance reform."NO your child can not have health insurance!"?I agree. Why should an insurance company be allowed to make medical decisions? Where did they get their degrees in Medical Care?

Hooray for you!!!!!!!!!!"NO your child can not have health insurance!"?possess as much information as you could maybe is one of the options, however it is quite time consuming, here

Why are we OK with a president that Veto's child health care but requests another 200 bil for an illegal war

Sure lots of compassionate folks,... lamenting, Boohooing,... but the Sunzabetches time and again pull the rug out from under our children with "ZERO" reaction from the populace...???????

WHY ???????Why are we OK with a president that Veto's child health care but requests another 200 bil for an illegal warIt's just a reflection of American hypocrisy. We are up in arms about the unborn, but once born, a child is only good for cannon fodder. Christian compassion (we keep hearing about what a Christian nation we are) calls for killing our enemies and ignoring the needs of the poor. Why are we OK with a president that Veto's child health care but requests another 200 bil for an illegal war
The SCHIPS expansion is a fraud - as usual. It's NOT about children's health care, it's about expanding free federally-funded health care to middle class children - at a time when all honest observers say that the current program still fails to reach 2 million eligible poor children.

When you can explain to me why the children in a family of four making up to $82,000 a year should receive free health care from you and me, I'll be happy to listen. Or up to $62,000 a year - the Dems recently caved in as the Reps kept asking why families earning $82,000 a year should be getting free health care.

Well, guess what? $62,000 is still waaayyyyyy too much - unless you really, really enjoy feeding your dollars to the federal monster.

No, when the Dems go out and haul in the 2 million children eligible under the current program and get them covered, THEN we can talk about expanding the program - BUT NOT TO THE MIDDLE CLASS. Doh!Why are we OK with a president that Veto's child health care but requests another 200 bil for an illegal warYou've had many excellent answers, explaining that the president was not vetoing health care for children, but an extension of the plan to families who don't need it. Do you get it now? I doubt it. That's the main problem with liberals. When faced with clear facts, they can't or won't see them.
Try learning more about the gosh darn bill. The ORIGINAL bill that Bush was ready to fund would have given MORE money to poor kids. But once the Dems got their hands on it, they had actually diluted the impact the bill would have had on the truly needy by giving money ALSO to "kids" up to the age of 25 and kids in families with as much as an $80,000 income.

Compassion is a wonderful thing, but you have to also have a little common sense. Try getting some. Why are we OK with a president that Veto's child health care but requests another 200 bil for an illegal warHe vetoed that bill to keep the government from providing health care to children of RICH parents who can afford to pay for their own children's insurance. Poor children are covered. Those already eligible will not lose their health care. Clear enough for you? This is not a Socialist country. And it's not an illegal war, force was authorized by Congress. Just because the Dems jumped off the boat doesn't make it illegal. Why are we OK with a president that Veto's child health care but requests another 200 bil for an illegal war
The true question, oh lame one, is why you are okay with including families that earn $83,250 a year in SCHIP coverage. That is 300 times the poverty level. THAT, dear one, is not what SCHIP was created for! Or can you not get that through your bleeding liberal heart? Waste not, want not!!!!
Already in place it is called SCHIPs, been in place for sometime and still one third of parents who are eligible for it or Medicare have not enrolled. Before we add a higher level of income to an existing program we need to insure that the current (poorest of the poor) children are covered. Are you interested in children or interested in bashing bush? I am for the children of this country and strongly believe that the House should play the most important part (both parities). They have districts, if they could go door to door to get votes and drive the poorest to the voting booths then by god they can do the same for the children in health care. They and their staff have plenty of time away from Washington to do just that, four weeks off for labor day would have been a perfect time. Why are we OK with a president that Veto's child health care but requests another 200 bil for an illegal war
This actually doesnt even warrent an answer since we have covered this so many time but I will get a violation if I dont answer. He didnt veto childrens health care he vetoed an overpriced expansion of the program which would include people who do NOT need government sisstance, which the dems knew he would veto, so instead of sending him an extension of the current bill, they sent him a bill they knew he would veto for this purpose - to make him look bad.
Give $400,000 a year to 25,000 doctors to see ten patients a day and this will serve the needs of 50,000,000 during the year for just 10 billion dollars .

Who thinks we can not afford 10 billion to pay for medical care for 50,000,000 people each year .
It wasn't just child healthcare that was vetoed. The bill did little extra for those who cannot afford child health care. Instead it expanded those eligible for child health care up to age 25 and up to and beyond $ 60,000 annual family income.

The Media are biased and have a political position on this issue that is not based in the facts.

Child's Health Insurance through military father...?

If my son has had his health insurance through his father's employer (military tricare) since he was born, and we have not yet got a divorce, is there any way I can request that the child stays on that insurance? Or does the father have to have custody of the child in order for him to have that insurance? Thanks for your answers in advance.Child's Health Insurance through military father...?Your son will stay a dependent he doesn't need to have custody. Just to avoid hassles make sure it is in the divorce decree that he will provide the child with medical/dental. Unless the judge decideds that you need to provide it.Child's Health Insurance through military father...?
You use the word "my son". So here's how it works: A child of a military servicemember retains tricare through the child's life and now with the new reform in healthcare which will probably be voted down it is enteded to the end of college under a new modified tricare program for college students. If the child is a step child of a military servicemember, then the child loses tricare eligibility when the divorce is finalized.

Tricare is maintained for the spouse and children of the spouse until the divorce is finalized. Eligibility can be extended to complete a care process, for example, surgery is completed one day before divorce, and 3 weeks later a follow up is needed to remove sutures, that can be done. That's why the big military hospitals have an open gate policy, requiring only drivers licenses at most.

The servicemember does not have to retain custody of the child to retain tricare benefits. BUt if the servicemember loses loses all parental rights, such as in an adoption then yes, the dependents would lose tricare benefits then.Child's Health Insurance through military father...?you can insist that your son remains on tricare and with the dental............father does NOT have to have custody, he is either wrong or blowing smoke, either way NOT true.

Does not matter the branch Tricare covers all of them, so the rules stay the same.

He can ask but point out to the judge it comes out his pay directly before it comes into the bank and if he insists that you pay the small amount then there is a good chance that it will mess things about with tricare...If the judge rules you pay, then you pay but in general the active duty member is made to carry the cost.......it is NOT that much and a LOT less than any other insurance premium for your child.

Got to say susan has already given you the most exact advice I have seen on here for some time.Child's Health Insurance through military father...?
the courts determine who is required to provide insurance. custody is not necessary to remain eligible for tricare. HOWEVER:

the SM is NOT required to maintain Prime, He can drop it to Standard and would NOT be liable for the co pays, you would. nor is he required to provide Dental. unless court ordered.

also since medical insurance is being provided he can legally use that to lower his CS payments accordinglyChild's Health Insurance through military father...?I work with a divorced lady who has a son. Her husband is active duty. Her son is under Tricare...and will be until he's 18 (hubby is a career soldier), or until 21(?) if he goes to college. Co-worker has full custody of her son (with periodic visits from his dad). Call TriCare for a complete run down on your son's benefits in TriCare.

(Most of the ones I know of are less than $50 a month per child.)

Since there are varied CHP plans, call your pediatrician and ask which ones they take. Often, you do get a choice between several plans (In my area - which is Orange/Rockland County - we have the choice between Blue Cross Blue Shield, Wellcare, Fidelis, and several others - there may be other choices where you are.) You do get to select the doctor - as long as they're on the plan, and most of them are - but sometimes, they mis-key the selection, so when you get the cards, double check the PCP (primary care physician) to make sure they put the right one. If they didn't, call them right away so they can fix it and send you a new card. You also have to be dilligent about recertifiying every year - otherwise, they drop you like a hot rock. (Recertifiying takes about six weeks, so make sure you get the paperwork at least eight weeks before you need to!)

Honestly, I wish they had "Grownup Health Plus", it's such a good deal!Has any of you ever used NYS Child Health Plus insurance?I have never used it myself, but I am a billing manager for a medical facility. Shop very carefully before you select a plan. They are not all alike. The available plans depend on where you live. Assuming you live in one of the 5 boros of NYC or Nassau county, you have some excellent choices. You most likely will have to select a primary care physician, but most of the networks are so large that shouldn't be a problem. I suggest you call her pediatrician and ask which plans they participate with. Good luck!

A student in a friend's classroom has VERY health conscious parents...

to the point that the child is rewarded with a trip to the dollar store

if she brings home the candy that the teacher gives her as a reward.

The child likes sweets and wants to eat like the other children, so she

has been caught going through the trash can pulling out Goldfish and

popcorn and EATING it. (Yuck, right?) She even takes candy from the

    teacher without telling the teacher.

I was wondering what kind of advice I should give this teacher to give

the parent. Are they setting their kid up for an eating disorder? The

girl is only 7...Child sneaking food/health conciuos parents Plase help!?my feelings on this are mixed....a) the parents are being responsible and trying to teach the child good, healthy eating habits and should be praised for it. b) they are her parents and as such have the right to raise her anyway they choose so long as they maintain the childs health.

that being said, i also believe that a child should be taught moderation rather than over restraint. as others have noted in previous posts, a child who is not allowed ANY junk food only wants it more....its the forbidden fruit. as parents with teenagers know, anything you tell a child NOT to do is always the first thing they DO when they are out of the parents sight. and it feels sooooo good to get away with it that they tend to overindulge. the parents should try giving the child a treat a couple of times a week and teach her that its ok to have it IN MODERATION. but that is only MY opinion.

if the parents are unwilling to try this method, then the teacher should respect their wishes and not give the child the candy. but the parents also need to seek some advice from a doctor or therapist on how to get their daughter to stop eating from garbage cans....that's unhealthy and unsanitary.

EDIT: is there any chance there is a medical reason the parents do not want her to have sugar?? diabetes or something? adhd? hyperactivity disorder? sugar can have major impacts on those disorders....Child sneaking food/health conciuos parents Plase help!?
the child isnt being a child a balanced situation is needed with candy for certain times. candy isnt a punishment its a reward and the kid thinks that she is being deprived of the reward. the parents and the child both need to be educated by a teacherChild sneaking food/health conciuos parents Plase help!?if i were the teacher, i'd just tell the parents what's going on and let them decide what to do with that information. and i'd tell the kid that they're not allowed to take food from the trash and explain why.

but i'd also stop handing out sweets as a reward at school! why wouldn't school want to be teaching good eating habits? not that i think kids should never have sweets, but i certainly don't want my kid thinking every time you behave or get a good grade you should eat something bad for you....
If the child is on a sugar free diet, including abstaining from artificial sweeteners, processed flour, and "-ose" substances, then she will not crave sugars and will in fact be sickened by them.

So she is getting sugar from somewhere, but is not getting enough to sate her addiction, (yes sugar is the second most addictive substance on earth, the first being oxygen). This has caused her to resort to "junky" behavior, including stealing and eating garbage.

The parents need to sit down with the teacher and discuss their child's diet. They cannot be depriving the child of sugar at home and then have the school letting her have sugar.Child sneaking food/health conciuos parents Plase help!?the parents are whackos. give the kid a candy or two.Child sneaking food/health conciuos parents Plase help!?
Please do not jump to conclusions. The child may have Prader-Willi Syndrome. Prader Willi Syndrome would cause kids to always feel hungry and eat out of the garbage, or the child might have diabetes. In either case the parents would be saving the childs life. Check out Prader-willi syndrome on the web.
Yes the parents are being far too strict by not allowing some sweets. They are only making it more desireable for the child by making it forbidden. I don't know if getting the teacher involved by telling the parents will help...it may make them even firmer with the child and they could resort to having the school report back to them if they see her eating something they disapprove of.Child sneaking food/health conciuos parents Plase help!?
I have to agree with 4x the fun on this one. My first child, I did not allow candy or sodas, he had his own drawer at the bottmom of my frig filled with string cheese, applesauce, jello, pudding and fruits and my mom with always not respect my wishes and give candy to him, now he is not much on candy or sodas as a teenager. My second child, I allow her candy and her father allows her soda and she just can't get enough of it. She is addicted to it. But she also will eat any vegetable you can give her and my son won't.

Taking a child to the dollar store to get some junk toy is not an award. Maybe you should recommend to your friend buying the class cut apples, bananas or grapes so that the child does not feel the need to dig threw the trash and on the same note does not trample the parents wishes.

Is Health Care Obama's No Child Left Behind? Why or why not?

I've been getting in trouble for posting my own opinion, so I will not answer. BUt I want to see what others say about this.Is Health Care Obama's No Child Left Behind? Why or why not?No Child Left Behind was an ill planned attempt to do something good that failed miserably. But it had good intentions. The Health Reform crap is all about making money. All Americans will be required to buy insurance from the insurance companies so we can continue to pay exorbitant amounts to health care professionals, HMO's and drug companies. If you can't afford insurance, then the government will help you pay for it (and remember, the government has no ability to actually make money, so this cost will be born by the taxpayer). All HMO's and Drug Companies have congressmen and/or senators on their board of directors or advisory boards, so who's getting paid and who's getting screwed? Sounds a lot like the climate change scam to me. Fat stacks of cash.Is Health Care Obama's No Child Left Behind? Why or why not? It's WAY worse because it will affect everyone, not just children, and will cost far more.Is Health Care Obama's No Child Left Behind? What is the logic behind forcing people to have children they do not want and denying the live children health?

care. What is the logic behind forcing people to have children they do not want and denying the live children health? Some of the answers you received to this question are amazingly ridiculous. No one is "slaughtering" anyone, and the claim that everyone in America has access to health care is either incredibly naive and uninformed, or a blatant lie (made by those who, no doubt, have health care insurance themselves).

The Catholic Church and the extremist "Religious Right" (the James Dobson/Jerry Falwell/Pat Robertson crowd) have an interesting and shameful plan....

%26gt; Make young people with raging hormones feel as guilty as possible for even having impulses that God gave them, and desperate and fearful if they act on them

%26gt; Deny them birth control, even though some of them will inevitably have sex, effectively forcing them to become pregnant

%26gt; Blame the girl for becoming pregnant

%26gt; Then deprive her of the right to make her own decision about what to do with her own life and body

%26gt; Scorn, condemn, and emotionally abuse her if her pregnancy comes to light

%26gt; Then force them to seek someone who will take the risk of performing a very dangerous and illegal procedure to terminate her pregnancy, or even commit suicide because of the guilt and alienation that has been imposed upon them

I am so thankful not to be a poor girl in that situation, and "holier than thou" Christians should be too. There but for the grace of God go any one of us.What is the logic behind forcing people to have children they do not want and denying the live children health?
Why is murder a crime? The taking of a human life for such a dismal reason "I don't want a baby" is ridiculous to allow... there are steps and medications people can take to avoid such a thing (granted sometimes there are extenuating circumstances but those are the exception).... No child in this country is denied healthcare unless the parents are the ones denying it to them.... EVERY state has CHIP (federally funded health inurance for low income children) EVERY hospital is required to see and administer to anyone that comes into their doors (and for those that say that is what is driving up health care costs, that may be so, but the health insurance bill will not change that, only make it more difficult for hospitals to recoup thier losses, driving up prices even further)...

What is your logic for the murder of unborn children? What is the logic behind forcing people to have children they do not want and denying the live children health?for everyone who answered "t's their own stupid fault" have you never made a mistake? You're quick enough to take pity on children but is a 16 yr old ( or even a 14 yr old???) who gets ( or gets someone) pregnant not a child? I see your compassion is really worth f*ck all, you're just sanctimonious.

And as for condoms not being available freely too all - well, sure aids ( or a 1000 other horrible diseases) is not something people have to worry about is it??!
There isn't - and no one is doing that.

People are asking others not to SLAUGHTED their unborn children, and to do what almost any other mammal, and even the lowest forms of life do - take care of their children.

If that's too much of a burden then we might as well all give up on the future of civilization - and of the human race - right now.

It's shameful that some on the left apparently think we should. What is the logic behind forcing people to have children they do not want and denying the live children health?don't think liberal can comprehend the correlation between more government and less freedoms. their brains just arnt wired that way.

For instance government will now use the higher health care cost excuse to limit or tax everything you do. NYC is already using this excuse to limit salt in food at resturants. soon you will be told skiing has added risk and thus a tax or worse ban will be put in placeWhat is the logic behind forcing people to have children they do not want and denying the live children health?
As opposed to the logic of putting yourself in a situation where you're going to have a kid that you can't afford?

Condoms are cheap. Keeping your pants on is even cheaper. If can't do one, do the other.

Sorry, but this argument fails because it's a defense of STUPID PEOPLE BEING STUPID.
What is wrong with self-protection, what is wrong with self-respect, what is wrong with common-sense, what is wrong with getting yourself "fixed" so you do not have any unwanted childrenWhat is the logic behind forcing people to have children they do not want and denying the live children health?
What is the logic behind travelling the tunnel of love and then expecting the rest of us to pay for the baby that results from the trip?

Would that be LAZY PARASITE logic?
Yeah and what is the logic behind forcing people to buy health care, or forcing one person to pay for another persons coverage?
ive never met a pro life conservative who wanted to deny health care to a child, if fact more often than not they help the child.
The stupidest thing about the abortion hysteria is that the Bible is perfectly OK with abortion.
    1. Prevention of murder;

    2. No one is denied health in America.
That's a good question. It's not the state of things, but I see where you're going. It's paradoxical.
I dunno, what fairy tale were you reading that causes you to believe this?

How do you feel about Bush vetoing the Children Health care bill?

I feel he is an idiot for doing so. What a president we have, doesn't want a better health care system for low income children! How do you feel about Bush vetoing the Children Health care bill?haham hes good at spendid billions on war, prolly only this he is good at, and sending americans troops to dieHow do you feel about Bush vetoing the Children Health care bill?
I hate bush everything he has done has ruined everyones lives. Send back our troops!!!How do you feel about Bush vetoing the Children Health care bill?can't wait til he's out of there.
you voted for him...TWICE.!!!!..HA HAHow do you feel about Bush vetoing the Children Health care bill?Well, I don't have much respect for this guy, as it is.

When he finds something unacceptable, he 'decrees' it as such. But when others find something unacceptable, they are blocking and refusing to do what is right. For example, when the Congress did not pass legislation to give money to the troops without a timetable, which he turned down, he claimed that Congress wasn't doing right and was refusing money to the troops. But HE is the one who turned down the money. I think that quite often Bush blames OTHERS for doing things that are HIS responsibility.

That being said, he will say that he is vetoing it for reasons other than giving health care to children. I'm sure he believes that ALL children should have health care. He has other issues as to HOW the health care should be given, and since he is ALWAYS right and can NEVER make a mistake, only his views are acceptable. I believe this country will be MUCH better off, starting Jan 20, 2009!How do you feel about Bush vetoing the Children Health care bill?
    Bush is an idiot
here we go another whiny hippie who hasn't done his research, I wonder how many presidents can you name, and the ones you can name, do you know what they have and havn't done. Bush isn't my favorite Pres, but I hate people who ***** and complain and havn't done a damn thing to change anything. Take your BS and go to the polotics section and get the hell off my pollsHow do you feel about Bush vetoing the Children Health care bill?
It's amazing that bush is still the president
I think its terrible. He just has war on his mind, I hate that man!
I don't. People just want to get health care for free. Now I know there are some truely poor people out there who need it, but think of the MILLIONS of Americans who are living off of welfare? It's just going to be those people who take it. Because they think they can be lazy and not work. They got money, they were going to get insurence, what's next, their bills?
I agree with Piggie8~ People want something for nothing!
one more reason for me to hate him
You are not a child at 23. Everyone has access to health CARE but not necessarily health INSURANCE which I think you're thinking of.

Why do people think the government can run that sort of program anyway? Because they do so well with the DMV or the post office? possibly the two most inefficient organizations in history? Or because it works so well in other countries like Canada where the well off are sneaking into the US for treatment.
i'm not suprised by it at all. he wants to spend the money in iraq instead.
yeah! give that money to the rich with more tax breaks! They will support the lower class families by donating their money to charity. YEAH RIGHT.
Once again our president is not concerned with the American public who is most heavily taxed compared to net income ratio. Bush's reasoning? He wanted to protect big name health care org's. This has little or nothing to do w/ this. This bill is to provide medical care for children, not adults. People who don't qualify for medicare but do not make enough or receive health ins. would benefit from this. When will our taxes be used to assist under privileged Americans and not pay for tropical vacations.

Do you have to pay child support and health insurance in Missouri?

Just need to know if the state of Missouri can make you pay child support and health insurance at the same time. So lets say you are already paying child support. And the custodial parent wants to request the noncustodial parent to provide health insurance through the noncustodial parents employer provided health insurance. Can this happen? And if so does the state adjust your child support payment because your paying for health insurance also? The only info I can find is that the state can enforce child support by making you pay for health insurance and some other ways to get the money. But thats if your not paying child support. You see what I'm saying. But I'm confused about all this lol and need some help understanding all these stinking laws. I'm doing this as a favor for my Brother and its giving me a headache. HELP! By the way none of this has been to court. No visitation orders, no nothing. Custodial parent is withholding visitation and has been for awhile now. I'm aware that the custodial parent can do this without any court oreders in affect. Please Help.Do you have to pay child support and health insurance in Missouri? This may get a bit long. You are correct that in Missouri you can get a state order for child support without going through the court. In fact if you applied for any aid programs through the Division of Social Services you will be required to first seek child support. They will order a paternity test to determine if the claimed father is indeed the father. After paternity is established both parents will need to fill out standard income and expense forms and using a standard formula the amount of child support is determined. Normally at that time insurance is considered and if one of the parents has employment with an employer that subscribes to an insurance plan they are required to enroll the child and the monthly payments are figured into the formula. If neither has that option then the order may still be put in place but is not enforced (you can't enroll in what doesn't exist). If that's the case one of three things can happen. The child has no insurance, one parent purchases private insurance and is given credit for it, or once enrollment criteria is met the child can be enrolled in MC+. Since this all may be determined after the initial child support order is entered the parent may need to request an administrative hearing to get the order adjusted. Everything described so far is just dealing with the state bureaucracy on financial issues. They will not deal with custody/visitation issues.

Although a lot of young people tend to go the above route or use informal arrangements the best and usually the eventual route is to hire an attorney and go to court. As part of the court process new more comprehensive financial forms will be filed and a court determination on child support and insurance will be reach that will supersede the state's determination. More importantly in my opinion both parents will file a parenting plan and a determination will be reach as to how custody will be shared including visitation and how decisions on schooling and other maters get made.

Basic bottom line if your brother pays for insurance it should get figured in his share of support (not necessarily dollar for dollar) but he will probably need to request an administrative hearing or go to court.Do you have to pay child support and health insurance in Missouri?GET THAT POOR CHILD OUT OF THAT HELL STATE

Should people convicted of killing a child be put to death regardless of their mental health?

When there is no doubt that they are guilty, i.e. confession or DNA evidence.

I'm disgusted by people who claim that a woman who kills her children shoud have her life spared because she was obviously mentally distressed.Should people convicted of killing a child be put to death regardless of their mental health?I DON'T CARE IF SOMEONE IS SO EVIL THAT THEY COULD HURT OR KILL A CHILD THEY SHOULD HAVE THEIR LIFE TAKEN AWAY SOMETIMES THEY ARE MENTAL BUT THAT MEANS THEY SHOULDN'T BE FREE THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE CRAZY HOUSE THEY STILL SHOULD BE PUNISHEDFOR WHAT THEY'VE DONEShould people convicted of killing a child be put to death regardless of their mental health?
yesShould people convicted of killing a child be put to death regardless of their mental health? No - two rights don't make a wrong and anyway she should just be jailed for life that is much more punishment that instant death could ever bring.
YesShould people convicted of killing a child be put to death regardless of their mental health?i have two answers for u

one is that no one in the world has the right to take life away from another person no matter of how sane they r if they have enough thought to kill a person then they should die them selves.

most of the time people fake having mental problems when being charged with murder depending on the state the crime has happened will depend the life of the person.Should people convicted of killing a child be put to death regardless of their mental health?
    Absolutely not.
No. Mandatory death sentences without taking all facts into consideration is wrong. Zero tolerance policies of any kind usually end up making the enforcers look stupid.Should people convicted of killing a child be put to death regardless of their mental health?
No. While I do believe that lawyers can put a GREAT BIG SPIN on most peoples mental state, there ARE people who really do have mental problems. I do feel however that this defence is WAY over used, but you can't just give out the death penalty all across the board. We are far to quick to judge and assume in this country.
it depends on the situiation. Many people and groups are opposed to the dealth penality regardless of mental health. If someone is dangerous and has killed but has a major axis one mental disorder then I think they should be locked up in a mental institution for life. They are still imprisoned and can't leave. It's just a prison for the mentally ill as opposed to a prison for the people who are not mentally ill. Either way they are locked up and can't hurt anyone again.
what is the purpose in killing a mother who has killed her children while being emotionally disturbed (is there a case where she would do this and NOT be mentally ill?)?

is it to prevent her from committing the crime again? no, because she's likely incarcerated for life.

so in other words, the death penalty in this case is strictly about revenge. and a country's justice system is not supposed to be an agent of revenge.

i wonder if, heaven forbid, you were to have a family member who committed such a heinous act, or if YOU were to lose your mind and do something like that, you would feel the same way. don't you think this woman's life is a living hell? why isn't that enough for you?
Anyone who takes the life of another is insane as far as I'm concerned. If they were in their right frame of mind they wouldn't consider doing something so hainus in the first place! I think they should have to live the rest of their lives in jail because at least by being alive they have to deal with the consequences of their actions. To me,being sentenced to death would be an easy way out for them and they would never be able to see the damage they have caused and they wouldn't have to live with their guilt! Personally I think they should have to deal with the pain and suffering they have caused.

On the other hand though,I really have a problem with the overcrowding in prisons and that the taxpayers are paying for them to be able to use the gym or go to their libraries or whatever benefits they have in prison. I think that if you are convicted of a crime that you should lose all of your rights as a citizen.
If this were the case there would be a lot fewer abortion doctors!
YES! I will always believe, that when a person kills,or does any kind of harm to a child, that they are mentally ill. Mental illness is usually brought upon during birth. When the child starts showing signs of mental illness,or any kind of abnormality, then the parents should have the child evaluated immediately, instead of sitting back thinking, that the child will grow out of it. Now the child is an adult, who has committed a crime against another child. When these adults go to jail, and start talking to a Psychiatrist, about how they were abused,as children,we can conclude, that the problem started somewhere at home, school,or in the neighborhood, which are the other places mental illness stems from.

  • Does Medi-Cal (public assistance health/dental coverage) pay for braces if my child needs them?

I was recently laid off and I can not afford to pay for continued health/dental insurance through my former employers cobra plan but my daughter desperately needs braces. If I apply for medi-cal and am approved does this cover braces or only general dentistry? Thanks for your help!Does Medi-Cal (public assistance health/dental coverage) pay for braces if my child needs them? Can you please add what state you are in? Are you married, divorced or single? Although intrusive, these are the questions they will ask you. When will your daughter turn 18? I will assume you are single/divorced but if you are married, it will be a completely different set of rules but still possible. I am a government worker and am familiar mostly with foster child benefits which may differ a bit. You will have trouble if they find out you are entitled to Cobra benefits. Whatever you do, make sure that they know this or it could be considered fraud. I don't know your financial situation but the extended benefits Cobra offers are so terribly expensive that I suggest you reject the policy altogether if you cannot afford it based on inability to pay and opt for strait Medi-Cal/Medi-Caid or risk depleting your savings (if you even have one) in order to "spend - down" your budget. If you have been laid off, you don't need this burden anyway. Also, where is your daughters father? They will ask this too. If you are not married and depending on your circumstance, he can be liable and court ordered to pay for half the cost of the treatment depending on the severity of your daughters need. 18 is the cut off age unless they are foster children, illegal immigrants, or your daughter becomes pregnant (which I doubt you would want to happen)! - then the cut off age is 19-21 depending on those factors. My son needs braces too and I have dental insurance that I pay a hefty premium for but the co-pay is so high that it will take 2 tax refunds (two years) to save for it. The most Medi-Cal can tell you is "no" in which isn't quite the end of the world just yet... they MUST send you what is called a "Notice of Action" on the back of that notice you will be offered a chance to appeal the decision within 30 day's - do it no matter what and be prepared to provide documentation relevant to her need. If that doesn't work - I don't know how your credit is...sometimes when we struggle it isn't perfect but many places will offer payment plans with less than stellar credit. I don't think braces should be considered "cosmetic" since abnormally placed teeth can cause other dental problems including TMJ and social/ socioeconomic problems later in life - like obtaining employment. Afterall - Medi-Care pays for Viagra. In which I may be greatful for in another 20 years lol ;) Good luck to you and my sympathies go out to you for your job loss. Please keep posted. I am curious to find out what happens.

Sorry so long...I would have e-mailed it but you don't accept email. I believe every child and adult should have access to dental/health treatment regardless of income or employment status. Gets me to talking/typing too much girl!

    Child support and health insurance?

I live in Oregon and my ex who takes care of the kids lives in Seattle.

I currently pay child support on time etc.

I was recently served papers stating that I need to pay health insurance for both of my kids on top of child support.

I don't mind at all paying to support my kids. They are a huge part of my life.

Problem is if I pay the existing child support costs AND the health insurance. I'll have 580 dollars to my name per month. It's impossible to live on this. My rent alone is dirt cheap at 420.00. That leaves 160.00 for food, gas, life etc a month.

    Question:

Are there any clauses that allow me to 'claim' the healthcare I'm paying for to deduct an amount I'm paying for in child support?

The kids live in a huge house with her affluent parents that provide everything for them. So a deduction in my payment would not affect the livelihood of the kids or ex. It's pretty frustrating when I don't have the money to visit my kids, let alone survive and I show up and she's buying iPod touches and Macbooks etc.

    Thanks for any answers provided.

If you have any additional tips. They are warmly welcomed.

Namaste.Child support and health insurance?is this just a proposal or an order of the court stating it has been modified?

oddly enough, they calculate income and overnights, plus expenses relating to the kids only

they don't really factor in rent, if you can believe it

i would file a modification if i were you, and factor in the cost of health care provided and see if it reduces your overall obligationChild support and health insurance?yes the amount of insurance you pay should be factored in.. but it will depend on state laws how it works.. you will need to go back to court to find out for sure and get it modifiedChild support and health insurance?go have your income reviewed again. they should deduct what you will pay for health insurance from your income, and then base child support on that...at least that's how minnesota does it.
