Why is it that so few people click to give free food and fund books and health for children and fund free?

mammograms for women in need, is it because people don't know about these sites or is it cos we're just lazy or busy entertaining ourseleves with mindless stuff on the web like Yahoo Answers(no offense, Answers is great)?

I only recently made The Hunger Site my home page and now everyday I click on all of the web sites (they have 5 sister sites, the Breast Cancer Site, Child Health Site, literacy Site,Rainforest Site and Animal rescue site) to make my contribution (for free) just a few seconds of my sweet time to do sweet deeds for those in need. You can click on all 5 sites in less than a few minutes to make your contribution.

It's quite unbelieveable that on average only 10 mammograms are generated for charity from all the clicks on the website, I hope you can make the effort to click everyday and help those in need and spread the word.

http://www.thehungersite.comWhy is it that so few people click to give free food and fund books and health for children and fund free?Hahah the animal one is my homepage %26amp; I just click on all of them from there :)Why is it that so few people click to give free food and fund books and health for children and fund free?I bet more will come if Britney Spears face is there for people to see.

What does the health care bill mean for dependent children?

I just turned 23 last year and I am no longer covered under my parent's insurance. I started paying for my own health insurance since I only work part time while attending school. I see that the new health care bill will allow dependent children to be covered under their parent's insurance until age 26. Can I go back to being covered by my parent's insurance as long as they claim me as a dependent? What does the health care bill mean for dependent children?Yes, you can be covered by your parent's policy but I don't know when that takes effect. I would contact the insurance agency.

Please explain what is going on with health care?

I know republicans just did something so what did they do %26amp; is it going to help the 1% or will they not be able to ruin this for the 99% who could possibly lose their health care. I know many republicans who now have children who are adults without health ins. So when these republicans leave their money to their house to a grown child with no health insurance they risk them losing what they worked for their whole life. Are republicans really going to have this go throughPlease explain what is going on with health care? The Republicans in the House passed a bill to repeal health care. It was a joke and they knew it because the Senate will never take up the bill and the President would never sign it even if it passed both houses.

Americans are just now starting to find out how good health care reform is and how much it will help them. For just two examples, under the new Affordable Health Care Act, Jared Loughner could have received mental health assistance and possibly would not have resorted to mass homicide, and some of the victims who were shot in Tucson now will not have a lifetime cap on their health insurance that they would have had before reform, so if it takes them a long time and a lot of money to heal, they will have insurance. Please explain what is going on with health care?
You see, this is the problem. All the republicans want to do is unwind what is and will be a huge new entitlement that will ruin the health care system and very likely prevent recovery of the economy.

The govt. should not be involved in health care! It's an issue between you and your doctor. If you don't like your insurance, pick another plan or carrier. But don't let the federal government create a national nightmare because you don't like your insurance or because you think it's too expensive.

There is nothing that the federal govt. does that is efficient, saves money or delivers a superior product or service - nothing. Please explain what is going on with health care?Orange-man Boehner, "the weeper for cameras" new Speaker of the House, decided to let the GOP grandstand by setting up a vote on "repeal" in the House only in order to curry favor with the for-profit hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance industry in time for big-buck donations from lobbyists for 2012 campaign coffers. This was a complete waste of time. The Senate is still controlled by Democrats, led by Senator Harry Reid (who pushed the final legislation through one piece at a time in an all-night session), so the House "repeal" is useless...going nowhere.

As more and more people become familiar with and make use of the provisions that are being phased in, more Americans WANT this Patient Protection and Affordable Care Plan of 2009 to stay in place! I'd say the House Republicans and their new teapotty extremists are "tilting at windmills".Please explain what is going on with health care?
Wrong. The republicans are very serious. We do not want to deny anyone of insurance. We just don't want the government telling us we have to buy from them. That is unconstitutional. The vote in the house yesterday was just the start and three democrats voted to repeal it also. We are wanting to get rid of the bad and replace it with good. This is not going to go away. It was crammed down our throats now we want a say that is all. Please explain what is going on with health care? The Republicans didn't do anything. They held a vote to repeal health care reform in the House of Representatives, but that bill would need to pass the Senate and be signed by the President to take effect, which isn't going to happen. Their vote was just a political stunt. Please explain what is going on with health care?
Well, there is nothing special, just the political issue and the political play of the game, the health care is a human instinct.
Just a lot of noise. The house voting against the health care bill was a symbolic gesture. Nothing is going to change.

What is the Health and Safety regulations for Children over 13 cooking in the house on there own?

Please Help! I'm 14 and my mum wont let me cook in the house without an adult supervising! :(

Your mother is just being extra careful that you don`t come to harm or harm her kitchen,What is the Health and Safety regulations for Children over 13 cooking in the house on there own?I don't believe health and safety regulations cover what happens in private homes. I think possibly your mum is anxious you may get hurt so perhaps you should go along with the supervision till you can prove to your mum that you can be trusted. Once she sees you are taking care of yourself and being careful with equipment and utensils I'm sure you will be allowed a bit more unsupervised sessions in the kitchen. What is the Health and Safety regulations for Children over 13 cooking in the house on there own?wow! I didnt even know there was such a thing..

You know.. why not call up your local fire department house and talk to the fire chief and say you are doing this for a class research project and ask them.. He/she might know..

  • Can someone please tell me of a medical facility that would deny health care to children in America?

I am serious. Is there a hospital or a doctor's office in America that would deny treatment to a needy child that was uninsured? Can someone please tell me of a medical facility that would deny health care to children in America? No private hospital must accept charity cases, there are many stories where ambulances pass one hospital to go to another. No doctor needs to either, he may at his discretion, but he is not mandated to treat everyone.

And they bill, all medical facilities and doctors will bill the patient, in some cases more than they do the ones who are insured, because insurance companies work out their own deals with hospitals. There is a reason half of all bankruptcies in the US are caused by medical bills, and its not because Aunt Margaret is a hypochondriac.

I had a friend who was between jobs and insurance coverage, he wouldn't go to an emergency room with what was probably just heartburn. He died. He was 53.

You can't diagnose yourself. Can someone please tell me of a medical facility that would deny health care to children in America?
There arent officially any, but you take a busload of sick minority children to the finest blueblooded hospital, out of all honesty, and suddenly there will be a "facilitation" problem. Can someone please tell me of a medical facility that would deny health care to children in America?Yes. My nephew had a hernia, he was eight years old. The Doctor and the hospitals said to wait until it strangulates, and then it would be treated as an emergency. Once a hernia strangulates, you can die.Can someone please tell me of a medical facility that would deny health care to children in America?
An emergency room will treat the uninsured, but you will go home with a big bill, after you are out of an urgent care situation there is no hospital in the US that will treat anybody of any age, from 1 to 101 without getting paid. Can someone please tell me of a medical facility that would deny health care to children in America?Yes: any privately owned Hospital can and any Doctor can. The ones who do not get money from the Government to run the Places they work and is privately own, will and do everyday. Can someone please tell me of a medical facility that would deny health care to children in America?
I doubt this, other than some differences of opinion over what is necessary, possibly. But no one will convince me that won't occur with universal health-care or that it doesn't occur now with Medicaid and Medicare.

I've actually found the re-payment terms better with private hospitals than so-called public ones, incidentally.

Additionally, the needy uninsured can apply for Medicaid at admissions.
if they only have a cold... yes... MOST CERTAINLY...

if they aren't in critical need there are many...

take your kid to a local doctors office and say you don't have any money or insurance and the kid is ill, not deathly ill... see what happens...

Can welfare cut me off of health insurance because of I receive Child Support?

While I was at my Neurologist for a shedule doctors visit like always every 6 months. I have Grand Mal Seizures. In order for me to keep my drivers license I need to get paperwork fill out by the doctor. Also in order for me not to have serizures I have to take meds. Welfare went and cut me off without no notice. Welfare said because I receive Child Support the State won't pay for health insurance for me. That's so wrong. Can welfare cut me off of health insurance because of I receive Child Support? You have to be poor. to receive welfare health insurance. If you're not poor "enough", you don't get that welfare health insurance.

It's so wrong, to demand everyone ELSE in your state to pay for your health care (not insurance, care), when you're getting child support that's supposed to pay for it. That's "double dipping". And it's welfare fraud. Can welfare cut me off of health insurance because of I receive Child Support?Apparently your "total" income exceeds the poverty guidelines of your state to qualify you anymore, so they have cut you off.

Go to the insurance department in the state you live in and check out low income health insurance that you may qualify for. The premiums are based on your income, but it is not free, and you will be paying for it based on your income. Can welfare cut me off of health insurance because of I receive Child Support? What do you mean how are you supposed to pay rent and health insurance with 6k a year??? Child support is to pay for half the costs of your CHILD. Its not supposed to pay for your health insurance, your rent, your food. For the child. For their school supplies, school fess, clothing, their food, shoes. You need a better job then. 500 a month in child support is way more than most get actually. You need a JOB!!Can welfare cut me off of health insurance because of I receive Child Support?
You should apply for SSI. Call and ask why they cut you off. It sounds like you still qualify but you have to report the child support to them as income.

If your children don't have health care because of you refusing vaccines, the government will take them?

If your children don't have government health care because of you refusing vaccines, the government will take them?

Mandatory Vaccines another advantage of the health care bill?If your children don't have health care because of you refusing vaccines, the government will take them?Vaccines are not full of socialist mercury or tracking devices.

They are made by doctors for the benefit of humanity.

    They should NOT be mandatory

but they are a good idea.

And if the government ever tried to take my kids, they'd be leaving with a chest full of bullets. If your children don't have health care because of you refusing vaccines, the government will take them?
Government is always right, notIf your children don't have health care because of you refusing vaccines, the government will take them? The government already has stipulations that require kids to get vaccines at a certain age, but I don't think that's part of the healthcare bill.

I don't think they take them away either, I think it's a fine.
Not providing your children with basic medical attention like vaccines is abuse and just cause for removal of the children. If your children don't have health care because of you refusing vaccines, the government will take them?yes the government will take everyone's baby away. the trouble is that they don't have the infrastructure to house them all. as things stand right now, all of the babies will be put in halfway houses with recovering drug addicts, until they can be adopted. If your children don't have health care because of you refusing vaccines, the government will take them?
That cannot be true. It's not smart to refuse those vaccines unless there is serious cause for concern. For one thing, they are required for college or they were. It didn't work if you got them after a certain age.

I've had the vaccines. It's been fine. I think there is a lot of ignorance surrounding this and these parents with concerns should get both sides of the story.

I'm a believer in getting the ones that you need. I didn't get the flu shot this year but I have before. I made the decision based on statistics for my life. I felt ok taking the risk.
The governments in most states will take your kids if you don't teach the approved curriculum, even if you home school. We're living under fascism but most don't recognize how little control they really have because the fascism has come in stages and we've had time to adjust. If your children don't have health care because of you refusing vaccines, the government will take them?
In many states you cannot enrol children in schools unless they have had mandatory vaccinations.
If that is in there, and I don't know whether it is, it won't hold up in court. What makes you think that you cannot turn down vaccines if your children are on government health care?

Even in the states where vaccines are required to attend public schools, this cannot be enforced. It is called being a conscientious objector and perfectly defendable in the US. You take your child to a physician for a wellness check and explain your objections and the physician can note them. This is America, people.

Matthew, all that is currently required is that your home-schooled children take the state tests (as far as enforcing curriculum, how can they really do that? lol). People--you can defend against this bill without making stuff up. I promise.
this is what everyone in this country wants though..the government to take care of us in every way..never have to pay or do anything for ourselves again.

america is just like a giant daycare and instead of being taught personal responsibility and morals we are taught to sue and blame someone else and look where its got us.

something had to be done about health care but its not fair that i had to pay $1000 deductible,$190 a month and only get 80% coverage thats a bunch of crap. what they should have done was expanded the states healthcare guidelines to include more people and backup coverage for wen people lose their jobs.
Don't refuse vaccines, nutcase. Your kid brings Measles into the school and it effects my kid. Your right to stupidity doesn't extend to injuring me and mine.
scary isn't it? big government taking over our lives.....

and yes vaccinations should be the choice of the parent, I know of more than one child who died from vaccination reactions. It should not be imposed on "every child".

Some vaccinations are outdated and impractical. furthermore, the standard vaccinations are lumped together and provide more risk to the child. A parent should have the option to pick and choose.

I have personally opted to vaccinate my child but I wish i could have had some of the shots as 3 single shots instead of 1 triple...it causes more risk and illness for the infant.
They try something like that and my family will be leaving the country. There are people on both sides of the fence, but I think a lot of them that are pro-vaccine really haven't been told all the dangers to make an informed decision either way. For those that are for them, just research the ingredients and the side effects of those ingredients. There are those of us who have been vaccinated and have gotten side effects. I almost died after an MMR as a child, of course I already had the measles. It causes asthma. I also now have on and off numbness in the tips of my fingers due to the hepatitis vaccine. My sister almost died after an MMR. Sorry, death is not worth the risk for my children. I am also against abortion and there is aborted fetal tissue in some of the vaccines. And you really have to stop and ask yourself about AIDS, it came from a rhesus monkey, and there is rhesus monkey tissue in some of the vaccines (this last statement is only my opinion, not documented). Check out www.thinktwice.com and read for yourself. It gives things on both sides of the fence. The child that I have that did not get vaccinated is much healthier than the ones that did. She is now 7 and had a stomach virus. No ear infections, fevers, etc that most little children get. Can't say that for my oldest who has problem after problem and she has continued for 25 years of her life. The difference is, my youngest was able to fight off things going around without interference of having to fight off diseases that were put in to her body.

And schools cannot refuse your children. There are exemption forms and each state is different on where they get signed or obtained. The school will tell you its the law, but the law is actually that the school holds either a record that the immunizations are up to date or that there is an exemption form on file for each child.

  • Why does the President think making sure children have health care is wrong?

Even many fellow Repubs disagree with him..."This is not a government takeover of health care. This is not socialized or nationalized medicine or anything like that," Grassley said. "This is not bringing the Canadian health care system to America."

I read that it would cost $60M over the next 5 years...how is that too much to spend when we spend twice that much a month on Iraq...

For those of you who see everything in black and white and therefore will say socialized medicine is bad...give me a reason...not just that Jesus doesn't like it or something like that.|||Reading all the idiotic comments above mine...I don't know if I should be laughing or shaking my head in disgust.

You poor poor americans, so brainwashed with government propaganda that the mere mention of anything 'socialist' will cause massive revolt, when the majority of you can't even think of a good reason as to why social health care is wrong.

In your puny little brains, affordable health care= democrats= communism= USSR= death to the good old 'free' US of A.

sigh.when will anyone wake up and face the fact that people from countries with socialized health care aren't dying by the dozens, aren't waiting 'months for a cat scan' as someone above me stated (hmm i wonder where he overheard that lie), and sure as hell aren't complaining.|||Funny, I kinda thought the constitution was a big deal. It gives free heath care to children of parents who can already afford it, and of course they will all take the bait instead of paying for it themselves. Others will begin to complain that they don't get free health care, etc etc etc. I'm not particularly against universal health care, its just that making it "free" (i.e. taxpayer provided) has too many problems. There is also the inevitable government red tape, and the regulation of costs will that will lower the quality.|||Can ask for billions of dollars to fight his immoral war but could care less for the health care of this country and its children.|||What no body likes about the bill is that it really isn't for kids, it is for couples with kids that earn $80,000 or less a year. What level of college education would you need to get a career in children mental health?

There are at least 3 different fields that you can go into.

You can become a licensed social worker, specializing in child therapy. For that you would need to complete a 2 year masters level degree.

You can be a psychologist. You would need at least a master's degree, but you'd do better with a Ph.D.

You can be a psychiatrist. You would need a medical degree, and then go on to specialize in psychiatry, and then child psychiatry. What level of college education would you need to get a career in children mental health? The minimum would be a masters for therapist and many clinical positions (play therapist, MFCC, etc) (you do not say exactly what field you are considering). Anything more like a psychologist is a doctorate (you can not call your self a psychologist with out the doctoral training).

Would you allow a Mental Health Unit for Sexually Violent Predators in your town?

So, the state of NY has plans to turn a former Mental Health unit into a "prison" type unit to house Sexually Violent predators in our town. (violent rapists and child molesters). These people are being held on the mental health law, as a danger to others or themself. At the same time, it can take days to find a bed in mental health for children in this state.

Would you oppose this unit or not? How would you voice your opinion pro and con?Would you allow a Mental Health Unit for Sexually Violent Predators in your town?I guess you dont have a family. If you did have either a wife, and children you would automatically oppose this kind of thing happening even 5kms near your place of residence. If even one of these disturbed people was to escape %26amp; find a way to your place, i think that then you wouldnt have to think about if you're thinking of oppising this or not, it wouldnt be a question at all in your mind, rather a flat out HELL NO, NOT IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD!!!!Would you allow a Mental Health Unit for Sexually Violent Predators in your town?
I would support this unit if the people running it can periodically castrate some of the inmates...in public...on Pay Per View...using a rusty chainsaw...a rusty chainsaw with a dull blade.Would you allow a Mental Health Unit for Sexually Violent Predators in your town?Keep those scumbags in prison for life, or better yet, execute them so we don't have to pay to support their sorry *sses!Would you allow a Mental Health Unit for Sexually Violent Predators in your town?
would i really have a choice??

i would rather not as there would be an awful lot of problems and not just with the predators. parents would be terrified an i can't say that i would blame them. there have been known escapes from these places. i would by every means i have oppose this, sorry.Would you allow a Mental Health Unit for Sexually Violent Predators in your town?Well as long as it is a MAXIMUM security ward I think it would be fine. I grew up near a mental health facility and once in a while they got out because it wasnt maximum security but with in an hour they were back in the facility. So as long as proper precautions were taken I wouldnt be opposed to it.Would you allow a Mental Health Unit for Sexually Violent Predators in your town?
As long as I was assured that the security (min 4 layer max security) was sufficient to prevent escape in case of a wing becoming unstable. Example: if the west wing became compromised and was overrun, there would still be two layers of security to prevent inmates from escaping the MHU.
    fun weekends, lemme tell ya

social services sent me a letter saying that if i dont cooperate with child support then they would cut off my medicaid.

i do need my medicaid because i already have health problems and i cant get any other health insurance

my child father does take care if his child

what would happen if my child father lost his job and wasnt able to pay ? would he go to jail?

and does child support means he will have to pay until our son turns 18 ? what if we were to get married , what would happen ?Some questions about child support and medicaid?Even if the father is unemployed, he would be liable for paying something towards child support. Probably not as much as he would be required to pay if he were employed, but something. And yes, he can go to jail for failure to pay.

Child support usually runs until a child turns 18 or graduates high school. In some states, it can run until they are 19 and some child support orders contain provisions for college.

If you get married and stay married, child support is a non-issue. He wouldn't have to pay other than any in arrears. Some questions about child support and medicaid? They don't send you right off to jail if you loose your job and are paying child support.

Yes he would have to pay until he is 18 and even longer if there is any back support they need to get. If you marry there wouldn't be any new charges but again he would have to continue to pay for any back charges still pending. Some questions about child support and medicaid?Child support is required if you ask for government support. If you don't ask for government support, you don't have to go after child support. As long as someone is providing and the government doesn't have to pay for anything, they don't care if you are on child support or not.

Why were tea party Patriots praying to Jesus Christ To stop the Health-care bill?

Do they need help from God to prevent poor kids from getting access to a doctor? Also, why would God value money over one of his own children's health? Does God put Money over Life and Death? Do Republicans believe Money overrides Life in the Eyes of god?Why were tea party Patriots praying to Jesus Christ To stop the Health-care bill? They have been convinced that this federal insurance program is the government taking over the health care industry. Just like they were convinced that Tarp was Bush (blame Obama) taking over the banking industry. Or that the auto bailouts are the government taking over the auto industry. The military occupation and regime changes in South America and the Middle East though - that's liberation. And since they believe the entire government (excluding Republicans of course) is corrupt and in league with Satan, well you get the picture.

And considering that the Tea Party has no clear goals and that they reject reading and science what other options besides prayer is even possible for them? Informed discourse? Pretty unlikely. Why were tea party Patriots praying to Jesus Christ To stop the Health-care bill?
The health care in countries that have socialized health care is terrible. they have to wait forever and they don't even get to pick their own doctor! Why would you want to have the government pick what you get and who you get for you treatment? God doesn't need health care or money to make the kids better. Why were tea party Patriots praying to Jesus Christ To stop the Health-care bill?Because Obamacare is destroying Free Market Capitalism in general and health care in particular -- including those "children" you are so concerned about.
You're question is very flawed. We are praying to Jesus to protect us and our families from Obama. I think that we may need help from God to ensure that our sick and elderly are taken care of. My question for you is why would Obama value power over one of his own citizen's health? He does put power over Life and Death.

You seem to think that the evil Republicans are just out to destroy America and oppose everything Obama does. But do you realize that what Obama care does is make the health care system WORSE!! Obama is trying to control the American people through Health Care, Cap %26amp; Trade, and the stimulus. You HAVE to look beneath the surface. There is more to these bills than what is on the surface.

Let's just look at Health Care. Obama Care is health Care for the healthy. For the very old, very young, very sick etc. Obama care is going to be a disaster. Obama promised that healthcare premiums would not go up, but they are already going up. Sebelius threatened the Health Care companies not to blame a rise in premiums on Obama Care. What does the silly bint think is causing the rise in premiums?

Plus, you have to realize that never in history has a citizen been forced to purchase a product simply to live. You have to have a license and insurance for the privilege of having a business or driving a car. But that is different. If you want the privilege, you have to buy the insurance.

They say that illegal aliens will not have access, but that is crap. I have heard from lots of nurses (as well as school administrators.) that said they can't ask for proof of citizenship. So without proof the illegals are going to get service. And we are going to pay for it.Why were tea party Patriots praying to Jesus Christ To stop the Health-care bill? And as you know Jesus did not give his coat but rented it at a 15% interest rate

He invited merchants in the temple

He said "it's easy for the rich to go through the eye of a needle".Why were tea party Patriots praying to Jesus Christ To stop the Health-care bill?
they would sell their souls to the devil, if it would get rid of health care improvements
Proof? Why were tea party Patriots praying to Jesus Christ To stop the Health-care bill?
I wonder what jesus is going to say

  • Would there be health issuses if both mother and father of a child were AB- blood type?

No.Would there be health issuses if both mother and father of a child were AB- blood type? There will be no problem as far as blood types go, but, a child could have either type A or type B blood also.Would there be health issuses if both mother and father of a child were AB- blood type? The only problem this would cause would be for children born after this child if this child %26amp; the next were Rh+ blood types b/c child #1 would cause mom to make antibiodies against Rh+ (mom Rh-) so the next child 's blood (if born Rh+ ) would be attacked by mom's immune system.

RNWould there be health issuses if both mother and father of a child were AB- blood type?nope so ENJOY and congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Would there be health issuses if both mother and father of a child were AB- blood type?
no, you will have either an A baby, a B baby, or an AB baby. The only health issues that arise with blood types are when the mother and baby have different blood types, or different rhesus factors (the positives and negatives) but given modern medicine, they're not a big issue and its standard for hospitals to check your foetus' blood type fairly early.

If you are both negative (meaning neither of you have rhesus antibodies on your blood cells), your baby will be negative too. So you definitely can't have a clash with them on that front.

    Congrats and good luck!

Could cps take a child away from grandparents who have temporary custody because their health is questionable?

Absolutely NOT. The only way CPS can remove a child from a caregiver is there is physical, emotional sexual abuse or neglect going on. They can't remove a child just because someone has questionable health. However, if they are trying to become foster parents of the child through CPS, they probably won't get approved if they are in ill health.Could cps take a child away from grandparents who have temporary custody because their health is questionable? It entirely depends on how the health of the grandparents effects the care of the kids - and the age of the kids. For instance, if you are talking about an infant, then grandparents who are likely to have sudden heart attacks and could leave a child alone in the house with a corpse are probably going to be seen as less than ideal guardians. However, such health is less likely to matter if the child is school aged because the child could call for help if something like that happened.

However, if you're talking about grandparents with Alzheimers who can't clean up, cook for, or provide for the grandchild... then yes, that will effect what CPS does.

It also really depends on whether or not CPS has an open case. It takes a much bigger problem to get CPS to open a case than it does for CPS to relocate children when there is already an open case.Could cps take a child away from grandparents who have temporary custody because their health is questionable?
No, I knew an old old I mean really old couple, the grandmother was blind, the mother of the children was an addict, and the grandparents did a great job. Its about safe housing, ability to care for the children, many parents are gravely ill, noone steps in and removes their children unless they ask them too right?Could cps take a child away from grandparents who have temporary custody because their health is questionable?Depends on the health risks itself.

If CPS put the children into the grandparents custody until further notice then they have already checked on the home and the living conditions that the children are in and deemed it a safe place for the kids to be placed.Could cps take a child away from grandparents who have temporary custody because their health is questionable?
I don't know about where you live, but in the state of Illinois you must pass a physical as part of the custody process.Could cps take a child away from grandparents who have temporary custody because their health is questionable?yes sometimes if they reli ill

That is all that I have to give you so you can either check on your computer or go to a lawyer and see what it entails. {Shame shame shame on the jerk{ thats putting it mildly} how would you feel of a comment made to you if you have something similar no further comment. }My chronically ill child(15) has spent her 1 million lifetime health insurance maximum. what do we do now?

Talk to your phsycian, they can make some referrals. You should have been researching this stuf LONG ago if you knew this day was coming. the wheels of free money programs spin very very slowly. My Dad is going down there next month to have his teeth pulled because it is about five times cheaper.

Forgot to mention that there are plenty of American Doctors and Dentists down there who use state-of-the art facilities.

Can't figure out why I'm getting thumbs down on this reply. The half-socialized American health care is a rip-off!My chronically ill child(15) has spent her 1 million lifetime health insurance maximum. what do we do now?

move to enlgand and take advantage of the free health insurance- like everyone else!My chronically ill child(15) has spent her 1 million lifetime health insurance maximum. what do we do now?
    This is sad ):

But It depends on what she has, you might be able to apply for a grant like thing for her that is from a program dedicated to the certain illness she has.
The only program I know of is to get your daughter insured under SSI or some Medicaid program. You can also contact your State Insurance Commissioner and explain your problem and see if he can suggest some type of waiver under your current insurance program. I have heard of that happening.

    Edit:

I just thought of one other possible avenue. If she is that sick, she must be a disabled child and you may be able to have her covered under yours, or her father's Social Security Disability program. It may well be worth a trip to your local Social Security Office to discuss it with a caseworker.
I know it's not easy with the American health insurance the way it is (pre-existing conditions generally not covered) but have you looked into switching insurance companies?

Decades ago, there had been people in your situation that were forced to give their child up to the state so the child's medical costs would be covered. Between giving up a child and watching her die, some people chose the latter to the former.

But I'm sure you can find something. Even if you must move to another country; you'll do what it takes for your child. I'm sure you know what I mean.
You contact two places - your state children's health insurance plan (medicaid) to see if they qualify - in many states, they will, as they are no longer eligible for private benefits, and are chronically ill. Most states, for ill children like this, they only count the CHILD'S income, not the parents. You MIGHT need to see if you can find a "child advocate" through your local school system, if your child is of school age, who can help you with this process.

If not, you can check with your state insurance high risk pool. Not all states have one, and it has long waits.
i am sorry for your predicament, but perhaps if you lived in a country where the health of the nation is more important than money you may have had a chance,i often hear americans slag off our national health service, perhaps it would be a good idea for any government to consider it,after all it is for the childrens health.all insurance companies are the same the world over, profit before life
wow ... only one million lifetime max ....

here in calif most plans have 5-6 million lifetime max ...

call a local insurance broker/agent and ask ...

here in calif we have MRMIP (major risk medical ins program)

    GOOD LUCK !!!
As you already know by now, your child will not qualify for medicaid because of your income. Until she reaches the age of 18, and can apply for her own Medicaid coverage, she will not be considered.

It really depends upon the condition she suffers from. Is she considered totally disabled? If so, there will be more leniency toward her when it comes to things like eligibility under Medicaid.

However, you also should be aware that Medicaid is a very stringent program and does not cover everything. You will be required to receive services from certain physicians and facilities in order to be eligible for reimbursement of charges (pay the doctors.).

My wife and I went through this with our second son. I will warn you first that you won't like what I am about to tell you.

Our second son was born with neurological and pulmonary problems. As a result, he suffered chronic acute central apnea, and tonic clonic seizures.

No doctor could ever diagnose, or treat his condition, and it finally took his life at age 15.

When he was born I was a claims manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. But I had just moved to AZ from California, where I had also worked for Blue Cross. Because BCBS is a differenet entity in every state, it was as if I was starting all over again.

My wife was pregnant with him at the time and they considered her pregnancy a pre-existing conditon. There was nothing I could do to overcome this obstacle. Even with over 9 years in the BCBS organization.

Because she had experienced a high risk pregnancy with our oldest son that terminated in an early C-Section, she was also at risk for our second child. But because my BCBS coverage would not pay for her care, I had to find an alternative.

I left my job at BCBS. After a couple of months I exhausted my savings, and then became eligible for Medicaid. Medicaid then picked up the tab for my wife's pregnancy, which turned out to also be high risk and once again terminated in an early C-Section.

When he was born, we immediately knew there were problems. He spent most of the first 6 years of his life at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

The only way I coule retain eligibility for him, and get his medical bills covered, was to maintain my eligibility under Medicaid. This meant I could make no more than $1300 a month (combined income). And even that was cutting it close.

But I love my family so I will do whatever it takes to provide what it is they need. I endured much crticism from the rest of my family for doing this because I was always going to them for help. No one understood my position.

It stayed that way until the day he passed. Once he passed I was able to return to gainful employment and start making a decent income again.

Sometime you gotta do what you gotta do. Especially when it comes to our children. My attitude was that he had a right to enjoy a quality of life just like everyone else. Unfortunately, in order to ensure that he had what he needed, I had to swallow my pride and do what I knew was right.

That meant giving up my excellent job, using all of my savings and investments, and joining the ranks of the impoverished. I did not enjoy that classification, but it was something I felt I had to do.

It's a travesty that decent, law abiding, tax paying citizens have to make these kinds of choices. But the reality is that you will probably end up using your financial resources to support your child's needs anyways.

Just pray that you don't run out of money before she turns 18. Because once she is an adult, she can apply for Medicaid in her own name, and it is only at this point in time that your income will not be taken into account.

If she is totally disabled, she can also apply for Medicare. In that way she can have dual coverage to ensure her needs will be appropriately met.

I'm sorry I don't have anything more positive or uplifting to express to you. But the sad fact is that this is the way it is in the USA.

You can always contact me through my profile if you would like to know more. I have recently considered that I should write a book about these experiences.

Hope that helps, if for no other reason than to let you know there are others out there going through the same thing. Believe me WE FEEL YOUR PAIN!

Can I reimburse myself health insurance costs from my company?

We used to have individual health insurance, and I would pay for it out of my own company (an S Corp). When we got insurance through my husband's employer, I stopped reimbursing myself.

He is paid for by the company, and then it costs extra to add myself and our child.

I was just going to deduct health insurance premiums on our Sch A, but we don't have enough other medical expenses to meet the limit.

Is it ligit to go ahead and reimburse myself the amount that it cost for the health insurance? Then it would be a business expense. Thanks. Can I reimburse myself health insurance costs from my company? No.

Once again, VB gives the correct answer. While the IRS has recently expanded the definition of the "established in the company name" standard, since the policy comes from your husband's employer it still does not qualify.

As a side note, officer health insurance cannot be directly deducted by an S corporation for more than 2% owners. There is a convoluted method used to get the deduction, but again you would not qualify.

  • Health Care Coverage for kids while paying child support?

My boyfriend and I live in NY, he has 2 children that live in Chicago (previous marriage). He has been paying the suggested amount for child support since they divorced-financially I can't say they have any issues, gifts are sent for holidays/b-days, and he/we make visits out there periodically to see the kids. He also has the children on his insurance policy, however his ins. does not provide coverage beyond the East Coast-the policy will only cover ER and in patient stays. Since we had our son a year ago she's been acting a bit "catty, getting on his case about how she's paying too much for their out patient health care and she only works 2 days a week, she wants to start sending them to private school, and her recent favorite comment is "I could care less about your other life" etc etc. We even found out the the kids started calling their step father (or rather her boyfriend until very recently) 'Dad' (Which I object to considering that despite the fact that we live far, my boyfriend is still is a part of their lives). She got married about 2 weeks ago and since then has been bugging my boyfriend NON STOP to give "legal rights" to her husband so he can put them on his insurance policy because he needs to be a legal guardian or adoptive parent. Unfortunately for my boyfriend, he's very passive and a man of few words-he doesn't ask many questions and I feel that she takes advantage of that sometimes. I mean essentially what she's asking for is for him to give up his parental rights for the sake of the kids healthcare coverage...? I understand that times are rough, and obtaining health care isn't easy especially if you're not working or working part time, but the rest of us bust our @sses to work full time to support our children while she works 2 days a week...? And from what it seems like lately, I don't think she's working @ all to go to school. I'm a full time working Mom, T take online college courses, and I take care of about 80% of my toddler's financial needs-and this includes daycare which in NY is $160 per week, I also have my son on my health care policy. My boyfriend is a wonderful partner and Father, and I know that technically he should contribute more financially, but I do it to alleviate him from the pressure. We're even afraid to get married b.c I've heard that if we do, the courts can combine both of our incomes, can that be done?

Sorry if this is a lot people, but any opinions on the situation would be appreciated.Health Care Coverage for kids while paying child support?I'm not going to address a lot of this, because stepfamily arrangements can be sooo tricky, especially when one parent is in a different state from the kids. What I do want to say is that you should dig a little deeper on this insurance thing, because I suspect that the kids *could* be covered on the stepfather's policy and that the ex is just yanking your boyfriend's chain. My husband has worked at several different jobs over the years, and has always, ALWAYS been able to include my daughter (his stepchild) on his health insurance policies. It's never been a problem to add her, and no one has ever made an issue of the fact that she's "only" a stepchild; she's always had the same benefits as his/our biological children. Just something to consider...Health Care Coverage for kids while paying child support?
Lady Discordia, you have been lucky! I recently got married and they let my husband put me on his insurance, but not my kids without legal guardianship or legally adopting them! Health Care Coverage for kids while paying child support? This is your boyfriend's issues to deal with the mother of his children and their insurance issues..these are issues that most couples need to work after divorce..if not, then there is always court intervention by either party..courts only look at the parents incomes for determining child support, health insurance, etc..Health Care Coverage for kids while paying child support?
First of all, the court cannot combine your income with his in order to calculate child support (or anything else) because the children are his and not yours. It doesn't matter how much money you make.

Secondly, STAY OUT of his interactions with his ex wife regarding their children. It is none of your business; and in the long run you will be creating resentment and bitterness for all of your "helpful suggestions." They are his kids... let him man up and deal with it.Health Care Coverage for kids while paying child support?A step-father can put kids on his insurance. My husband covers my children with no legal change in their status.

It's silly for you to have so much resentment about her. Her life is none of your business. What the kids call their step-dad is none of your business. If it bothers your bf, HE should do something about it.

Your income can't be combined, exactly. In some states the second wife's income can be CONSIDERED as part of what the dad has to live on, but child support is calculated on his, and possibly her income (the bio mom and dad).

Don't marry this man if you plan to maintain all this bitterness about his ex. You will make his life miserable. Right now, you aren't even the children's step-mom.Health Care Coverage for kids while paying child support?
I cover my step daugthers on my health insurance even though my husband and his ex shared joint custody. It should be allowed under the plan.

BTW, the new husband only has 2 more weeks to sign up the kids under his work policy. Under the rules of COBRA, you have 30 days following a qualifying event to add or drop coverage. Their excuse is invalid.

He probably should ask his attorney about the combined income for child support. My husband did not have to pay more for child support following our marriage.

I am doing a health paper i need to know if u have a misscrage is it possible that the child u have after ?

will could that child be slow like a mild mental intul disability I am doing a health paper i need to know if u have a misscrage is it possible that the child u have after ?Yes,its possible that any child you have can have a mild mental disability,However if you are asking if the miscarriage of a prior child would cause it,the answer would be no. It is an entirely different being.I am doing a health paper i need to know if u have a misscrage is it possible that the child u have after ?
actually if you have a miscarraige and you plan on having another baby it CAN affect the next child.

also, if you have a misscarriage the chances of having another misscarriage after is very high. sometimes (but i don't think alot) it happens up to 2 or 3 times.I am doing a health paper i need to know if u have a misscrage is it possible that the child u have after ?If that child is "slow" or has a mental disability then it is coincidence. A woman could have many miscarriages in a row and then finally get pregnant and have a very healthy baby. Miscarriages have nothing to do with how your child after will be.
no! different sperm/egg different child. Having a miscarriage has no effect on the subsequent pregnancy. Only a problem that causes miscarriages can do that, not a previous miscarriage itself. I am doing a health paper i need to know if u have a misscrage is it possible that the child u have after ?bull ****, not because of an miscarriage. there are different reasons why a child is mental disable but not because of the misscarriage.I am doing a health paper i need to know if u have a misscrage is it possible that the child u have after ?
Do you mean would your next child be fine? Yes women who have had miscarriages can certainly go on to have healthy children afterward. It has no affect on future pregnancies.
HECK NO!!!! That is not possible. Miscarriages dont make your next child "slow"

Go to the library and do some research. Get your facts straight.I am doing a health paper i need to know if u have a misscrage is it possible that the child u have after ?
Miscarriage of one baby has no affect on any future pregnancies/babies.

A 23 year old married male in GA can be denied health insurance due to the fact that he is an expectant father.... that man is my husband!

We are having the absolute most difficult time finding health insurance for him. We have discovered that since I am already covered with BCBS, they CANNOT deny him access to their coverage for that reason alone.

However, all other insurance companies see that factor as an automatic decline of service.

The reason being that, even if you plan on doing it differently, they do not want to cover the child once he or she is born if he or she is unhealthy. So, denying the father is the only way they can protect themselves. I know... it completely sucks. As a 25 yr old single male in VA, can you be denied health insurance because I am expecting a child? Many expectant mothers don't even get it, let alone expectant fathers. It will be extra a month added on to what you pay for yourself, but you shouldn't have to add them on til the baby is born. Does the mother have medical coverage or Medicaid? The baby will be covered I think up to the age of 5 if the mother is on Medicaid. As a 25 yr old single male in VA, can you be denied health insurance because I am expecting a child?
Individual health insurance can reject you for ANYTHING they want. However, under GROUP insurance, they cannot reject you for anything. Have you looked into the new Blue Cross Blue Shield plan? It鈥檚 nothing fancy, but they won鈥檛 reject you. And it鈥檚 at least some sort of coverage which is better than none. But still expect to pay a good amount of money.

Pregnancy CAN be viewed from some companies as a pre-existing condition. However, you鈥檙e a man, and it shouldn鈥檛 make a difference, unless you tried adding your girlfriend/spouse carrying child. It could matter...

You can't be denied coverage unless you have some circumstance/condition that would disqualify you regardless of the pregnancy. The mother can be denied coverage under your plan if you are not married. The child can be added to your coverage after he/she is born and paternity is established. As a 25 yr old single male in VA, can you be denied health insurance because I am expecting a child?
If you managed to get pregnant you don't need insurance. Call Jerry Springer or one of those guys. They will pay you big bucks.
    Wow it's a miracle!

Health Insurances can no longer count pregnancy as a preexisting condition so if you come late into an insurance then they have to cover it.

    Same thing happened to me.

If I marry a girl from my relatives, what are the chances of getting health Problems for our new born babies?

My age is 27 , she is 19 . The girl is my mother's sister's grand daughter . So my question is , If i marry her, In future will there be any health problem for our child .If I marry a girl from my relatives, what are the chances of getting health Problems for our new born babies?Uh idk but i think you should def try to capitalize on this, when you have your babies (they prob will look wierd) they could be in like the next hills have eyes movies lol and they wouldn't even need makeup they would naturally be weird looking. If I marry a girl from my relatives, what are the chances of getting health Problems for our new born babies?
Personal opinions aside (apparently in some cultures it's rather common to marry a second cousin, and it is typically legal), generally cousins and second cousins share surprisingly little common genetic ground (in a general sense). I believe first cousins share 1/8 genetic information. If she were your sister for example, I would be much more concerned (again, I am not giving any opinions as to if this is an OK thing to do, that is a whole other issue, if it were even legal).

All of that said, marrying a relative generally is thought to *potentially* result in decreased immune variation, which can potentially be a bad thing. On the other hand, there is some evidence to suggest that having a child with someone who's immune system is too different may be as bad as having children with someone who's immune system is too similar.

Also, if you have any genetic diseases, defects, or disorders in your family, this can definitely raise the risk for your child having these diseases, sometimes to unacceptable levels. You would need to speak to a genetic counsellor. Ask your doctor for referrals.

My personal opinion is that if you "must" do this, you are probably fine (like I said, this is relatively common in some cultures), but that does not mean that you will or will not have problems. The risk of your baby having severe issues largely depends on the genetic disorders (if any) present in your family. My advice is to speak to your doctor and seek referral to a genetic counsellor.

I would also consider not marrying a relative. You can still have her in your life, but not as your wife. ;)

Good luck!If I marry a girl from my relatives, what are the chances of getting health Problems for our new born babies? There is definitely a bigger risk of deformation, lung problems, heart problems, etc. It's safest to try marry someone not related. Besides, it's kind of gross.

The healthiest and best looking babies are the ones that are interracial.
that would be ur second cousin and technically its legal....its just kinda yucky... but anyway a second cousin and ur blood is far enough apart that birth effects shouldnt happen. If I marry a girl from my relatives, what are the chances of getting health Problems for our new born babies? You should ask a healthcare professional. I do believe there are laws against marrying relatives. If I marry a girl from my relatives, what are the chances of getting health Problems for our new born babies?
Creepy, but you two are varied enough genetically for there to be minimal effects.

So, no inbred cyclops, don't worry.
The people here don't know. Seek genetic counseling before proceeding with having children. If I marry a girl from my relatives, what are the chances of getting health Problems for our new born babies?
Probably not, but just to be sure you should talk to a professional about it.
Mostlikey not. %26amp; what would make you want to marry your cousin?!

Why should adults working with children understand the importance of health and safety?

i am doing a health and safety assignement and need a answer for a distinctiion. if any of you do work with children please help!

many thanks,Why should adults working with children understand the importance of health and safety?Because they have a legal requirement to do so. They have a duty of care when these children are in their care. Take the Heath and Safety Act and Management at Work Regs and apply it to a workplace in which there are children i.e a nursery / school. Cover issues such as leaving them unattended, COSH - letting them come into contact with harmful substances, welfare issues - such as food, toilet etc.Why should adults working with children understand the importance of health and safety?
omg that is brillent shabraz a are you doing level 1 childcare then as i am and i have this same assignment and i have wrote

that you need 2 be aware of the dangers incase there is accidents

Why should adults working with children understand the importance of health and safety? That's common sense, think about it and you should get an answer
Because its the Law. My sister is a child minder and had to get certificates and her house assesed by the Fire dept to make sure her house was suitable for looking after children.

Plus most of it is common sense. No leaving hot drinks around, make sure all cables and wires are stored and secure. Why should adults working with children understand the importance of health and safety? So that the children are healthy and safe I would thinkWhy should adults working with children understand the importance of health and safety?
Because they are the adult. The child is too young to think of consequence or danger. The adult has to think ahead and eliminate any possible hazard. If the adult is not clued up on health and safety issues then the child is not in safe hands.

They should also know what to do should an unforeseeable accident occur. They should be trained in how to act quickly to aid the child and decide what medical attention is needed.
    firstly its a legal requirement.

i would say that as someome working with children, in wahtever capacity, your prime responsibility to the child and its parents is to keep the child safe.

children learn from the adults in their lives and you should also be able to pass on some basic understanding of health and safety principles to the children in your care (presuming the child is of appropriate age/level of understanding)Why should adults working with children understand the importance of health and safety?
Children very often are oblivious to they need for safety due to their lack of experience. That is why an adult needs to instruct, caution and watch

There is a fair amount of legislation around as well

“Safe from Harm” (1993) is a Code of Practice giving 13 guidelines for the protection of children and young people. It also protects all those who work with them from unfounded accusations or from behaving in a way that may

    be well intentioned but inadvisable.

  • How to care for children with mental health or Disorders?

My friend is going to take a test for a job and the job has to do with Taking care of chilren with Mental and Disorders and that is going to be on the test so she wnat to know. How to care for children with mental health or Disorders?Your question is some what ambiguous, please give more details, as I hire people do work with a child for many years now. I am the father of a developmentally disabled child.

Edit note; One of the very first things I do, is check to insure that the person that is going to be with our son has no record of sex abuse. The second thing that I do is give them very fair warning that I will hurt them very badly if they do anything to him. I always ask if they have any experience with retarded people. I like it when they tell me they have a brother/sister with a like problem. I am less enthused about some one that has experience, we have had them, but we have to unlearn them and teach them how we do it. Tell your friend that she/he must realize that people like my son are just as unique as you or I. They should make sure that who ever does and interview with them that they say that they understand that each of these people are in fact unique and as such needs to be treated with thoughtfulness and respect. I would also advice your friend to up date or do an Initial CPR class before going to the interview, not a requirement but it would be a tie breaker. I would also ask why do they want to do this. If it is just for money I don't hire them. Mostly tell her to be herselfHow to care for children with mental health or Disorders?need more details

Wondering if anyone can relate? History of mental health issues in the South and child-like behavior?

Looking back, my family seems to fit stereotypical caricatures of Southern men and women with mental health issues: "redneck." Now, that doesn't mean that anyone in my family is schizophrenic, schizoid, or sociopathic, but I'm just wondering, what the hell? Where did they learn to act this way? Has anyone done research on mental illness in the South? I'm curious to know how far the leaves fell from the tree, its history, and is it just the South or is it the general population? I mean, truth seems to underlie every stereotype.

Just to throw out some examples, nearly everyone in my family is an alcoholic. Going on weirder, my mother, aunt, and maternal grandparents all act like children ranging from the ages of 7-12, speaking even in child-like voices; now, my mom and aunt have both been to college and graduate school, I would have thought that they would have matured. The latter is by far the more disturbing of the two in my opinion. When I was a child myself, often times I had to play the role of an adult and still do with other adults 3x my age. To add to that, attention deficit disorder flows freely within my family, and I happen to have been diagnosed. But, I can't help but wonder, how much of it is learned? My attention deficit disorder seems to clean up fairly nicely when I'm away from my family and place myself around well-adjusted, intelligent adults, albeit medication does help me regardless of my environment.

I guess the most I would like answered is does anyone else have a family with adults that revert to child-like mannerisms? I feel as if I'm insane and the only person in the world dealing with this. These are functioning adults with jobs, so what makes them "lose it" and revert to being immature, extremely impulsive - with little self-control - children?

Most of all, it's just embarassing.Wondering if anyone can relate? History of mental health issues in the South and child-like behavior?Paraphilic infantilism is a paraphilia characterized by the desire to wear diapers and/or be treated as an infant[1] or toddler. One who engages in infantilistic play is known as an adult baby (AB). About one in three adult babies is also a diaper lover (DL),[2][3] so they are collectively known as AB/DLs.[4] The majority of infantilists are heterosexual males.[5][6]

Paraphilic infantilism and diaper fetishes differ in self-image and the focus of attention. They can coexist in individuals, however, and they have some similarities. Neither includes a sexual preference for children.[1][7] There is no singular, archetypical infantilism, but a range. Some fantasize about being free of guilt, responsibility, or control, whereas others might not. Some act indistinguishably from a baby at times, while others practice in a way that would be unnoticed by passers by on the street. The desires and tastes of infantilists vary around common themes of diapers and babyhood.

How come "Bush" said he wanted all children in Iraq to have health insurance but says "NO" to help USA kids?

WASHINGTON - President Bush, in a confrontation with Congress, on Wednesday vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have dramatically expanded children's health insurance for children in the USA.

It was only the fourth veto of Bush's presidency, and one that some Republicans feared could carry steep risks for their party in next year's elections. The Senate approved the bill with enough votes to override the veto, but the margin in the House fell short of the required number. How come "Bush" said he wanted all children in Iraq to have health insurance but says "NO" to help USA kids?I was sick when I read this. So many people are spending half their income just to insure their kids. Its sad Bush doesn't care more about the American children. Our country will be better off when he is out of office. How come "Bush" said he wanted all children in Iraq to have health insurance but says "NO" to help USA kids?
The simplest answer is that he KNOWS that it should be part of all viable societies, as does most of the thinking world. He doesn't see it in the US because there is no funding to allow it. No funding unless one negates the newer tax breaks for the elite monied few, stops spending on a war that drains national coffers, and dissavows perhaps the strongest political lobbies that both parties rely on to fund their campaigns. It seems that death and taxes are certain in this society, not good health care for all.How come "Bush" said he wanted all children in Iraq to have health insurance but says "NO" to help USA kids?Well who is the one telling the U.S. to stop the support of terrorist...help me to understand, we can give health insurance to children in Iraq who's fathers are members of the taliban, and any other terrorist group, but we cant support our children at home? Bush is a pen...is... head...
Probably because the poorest of our children is rich compared to the richest of an Iraq child.

The new bill that he is going to veto, does not take away all the coverage, it prevents it expanding to people who's income level allows for them to afford insurance already. The plan would further increase taxes and create an even bigger group of people living off the government teet therefore creating a bigger voting group for the Dems, see how that works and why the Dems constantly want to expand government programs. Same reason they pretend to care about immigrants and want amnesty for them all, without even considering or caring about the consequences to our country. How come "Bush" said he wanted all children in Iraq to have health insurance but says "NO" to help USA kids? Please, just another social program. I agree with the President. While I would like all our children to have health insurance, I am not willing to pay for it out of my taxes. How's this, I'll make a deal with you. You limit welfare, WIC and similar programs to 12 months total in a person's life and I'll give you health insurance for kids. You can't keep asking people to pay for everything everyone else does not have. It may be cruel, but it's a fact. How come "Bush" said he wanted all children in Iraq to have health insurance but says "NO" to help USA kids?
Bush likes to take the hard stands such as continuing the "war" in Iraq, standing up against health care for children, ...
He was kidding with you. We have the best health care for children, we quickly take care of them ?!How come "Bush" said he wanted all children in Iraq to have health insurance but says "NO" to help USA kids?
A health care system that would give it to all our kids would need to be a socialist type like Europe and Canada which doesn't work too well. It will take time to find a way to keep our system and give everyone coverage. I don't want to see our health care system turned into Canadas where you have to wait til you're assigned an MRI even if you desperately need it.
i cannot find words to express my disgust with bush and members of congress for the death of that bill. how in the name of sanity can you justify expenditures for the war, while not having the money for children?

we believe that in america anything is possible. only in america, the self professed "greatest" country in the world can such logic rule the day. i am sad for this country. this is not what i served in the army for, not what i went to viet nam for.

i used to think that bush just looked an awfully lot like one of the lower primates, now i know the truth. he IS a lower primate that looks an awfully lot like a human. may god help this country.
Because he feels guilty about all the cluster bombs we dropped in Iraq injuring children.
Its "Bush" need we say more!!!!!
LOL, you're pretty good at taking things out of context.

Tax deduction for health insurance premiums of non custodial child?

I have an autistic son from a previous marriage. As part of our support %26amp; custody agreement (in lieu of the tradition state child support guidelines), among other things, I take care of his health insurance and medical expenses. Since he lives in a different state, he cannot be covered by the insurance I have with my employer (whose premiums are pre tax), so I pay out of pocket premiums for a policy that is good in his state (blue cross blue shield). My ex would have to pay a lot to have him insured from the policy she has with her employer, so this works well. We have an amicable relationship.

Since he primarily lives with his mom (my ex), he is claimed as a dependent on her taxes. However, I am the one paying the premiums. Can the premiums and medical bills be deducted by either of us? If she get the tax deduction, thats ok, and if I get the deduction, that's ok. I would just like for somebody to get the deduction, because that's more money for our kid. How would we handle this. I pay a little over $5000 a year in premiums, as well as a $1500 HSA.

How would this deduction work?Tax deduction for health insurance premiums of non custodial child? If you pay them, you are the person who can claim them as a medical deduction even if she claims him as a dependent. But the problem is whether you can take a medical deduction. First, you have to itemize. Second, you can only deduct the amount of your medical expenses (including the insurance payments) that's over 7.5% of your adjusted gross income.

If you meet those two rules, yes you can deduct it.Tax deduction for health insurance premiums of non custodial child? While medical expenses are normally limited to those persons listed on your return (taxpayer(s) and dependents), there is an exception for non-custodial parents. The insurance and any costs that you paid out of pocket for your child are deductible as medical expenses subject to the usual 7.5% AGI floor.Tax deduction for health insurance premiums of non custodial child?how much does what you pay exceed 7.5% of your AGI? and with this amount can you also itemize?

I believe someone I know might be using health insurance on her children fraduantly, should this be reported?

Long story short, this individual has 2 children who she has shared custody of but primary residence. The children are under the father's health insurance he has through work, but she has taken out a medical assistance insurance for when you have no health insurance for your children so she doesn't have to pay any health costs out of pocket. Is this okay? If not should this be reported and to who? I live in Pennsylvania.I believe someone I know might be using health insurance on her children fraduantly, should this be reported?be glad she is making sure her children even have health insurance, and sorry to say it but you shouldn't be worried about what she's doing.I believe someone I know might be using health insurance on her children fraduantly, should this be reported?
You'd report it to the PA INsurance Department Fraud Unit. Keep in mind, children with "special needs" such as ADHD or Aspergers CAN have both private insurance, AND Medicaid, to pick up the copay, in PA.I believe someone I know might be using health insurance on her children fraduantly, should this be reported?try this siteI believe someone I know might be using health insurance on her children fraduantly, should this be reported?

If my adult children who are on my health plan don't pay their healthcare bills timely or at all, can it affect my credit because I'm paying for their insurance and providing them coverage?I have placed my adult children on my health plan. If they don't pay their medical bills will it affect me?Nope. THEY are responsible for the medical bills. The hospital/doctor will file a claim with the insurance company (yours) but it is CLEARLY STATED on every medical bill that insurance is filed as a courtesy, but that the PATIENT is ultimately responsible to pay the bill if the insurance does not.

So there's no way you would be held responsible for an adult child's medical bills UNLESS you go with them and sign the paper STATING that you are the responsible party. You should never do that!

It has nothing to do with paying the deductible. It's all about WHO owes the bills, and that's your kids.I have placed my adult children on my health plan. If they don't pay their medical bills will it affect me?how are they not going to pay? - for routine doctor visits, they usually require the co-pay right then and there and they won't get any prescriptions without paying at the point of pickup

even emergency room visits - any bills will be in THEIR name - the insurance card they resent will have THEIR name in it

if they don't pay, you drop them and make them deal with the real world themselves since they are adultsI have placed my adult children on my health plan. If they don't pay their medical bills will it affect me?Yes, because it is YOUR pollicy. Fiance wont get rid of cat even though its a hazard to our child's health!?

my fiance and i have had this cat for less than 6 months and he will not get rid of it even though our house smells like ammonia from the cat peeing on our carpet! im due any day now to have our child and the cat will not stop urinating everywhere and the smell is so bad it gives me a headache! he works nights and sleeps all day so he isnt here long enough to catch the cat urinating on everything. lately the cat has been clawing at our daughters door trying to get in and one day i didnt shut the door all the way and the cat ran in and tried to pee by her crib and when i yelled at the cat it ran under the crib and tried urinating there! im 9 months pregnant and its hard for me to get up quickly and the cat will pee in the floor and when i go to get up to stop it, it will run right past me and hide under the couch. i dont know if its doing this out of spite bc hes angry my fiance works all the time or whats going on with the cat. i know that the smell and ammonia is horrible for the baby and so does he but he still will not get rid of it! any suggestions?Fiance wont get rid of cat even though its a hazard to our child's health!?Despite how it might appear to you, cats (and other pets) don't do things "out of spite" or to "get you back". These are human ideas. Cats are fairly predictable creatures. They will react in predictable ways to predictable stimuli. This cat sounds very stressed out to me. It may be unsettled because the dynamic in your home has changed because of the baby. You may unconsciously be treating the cat differently now that your priority is your baby, and the cat may be picking up on this.

Also, your cat may not like it's litter tray position or the litter you're using, or, as previously suggested, the cat has a UTI and is associating the pain of urination with the litter tray.

Cats will urinate in the wrong spots for a reason, not just to be "nasty". Either you need to put in some effort with your fiance to find out what's going on and fix it, or you should rehome the cat. Clearly something is not right with the cat and if you aren't in the frame of mind to want to work it out, the cat would be better off somewhere else. In the meantime I would suggest having the carpets professionally cleaned to remove the ammonia.Fiance wont get rid of cat even though its a hazard to our child's health!?
There are good books available on how to deal with cat behavior problems. Why not get one and solve the problem? Cats can even be taught to perform tricks and run agility courses. A cat behaviorist could help you. What have you done to help solve the problem?

If you take the cat to a shelter, it will die. The no-kill shelters are all FULL and so every day they send the surplus animals that people bring in to kill shelters where they are (painfully) killed.

I'm sorry that neither you nor your boyfriend have seen fit to find out what to do about this problem, or even taken the cat to a vet to find out if there is a urinary tract infection. People who are Great Pet Owners usually make Great Parents, and the reverse is, sadly, also true. If your child misbehaves, will you get rid of it also?Fiance wont get rid of cat even though its a hazard to our child's health!?poor litter box traini vs UTI Have you had her checked by the vet?

If no UTI per vet visit, retrain for the box

Confine her to the bathroom with CLEAN box , food water, bedding

play a radio on ow on talk show or ez listening. Visit often Once she has used box consistently expand her territory in the house room by room.

Get an enzymatic cleaner to clean all soiled areas or she will go back to the spots again.

This is a difficult situation being that you are due any day and he sleeps all day.

Kitty would be happier in a new home rather than being stressed at and yelled at and then a baby coming in. Too many changes for all of you right now

Give her a good new home-call the vet or local no kill shelter todayFiance wont get rid of cat even though its a hazard to our child's health!?
That is a seriously unhappy cat! Poor thing. For her own good she should be re-homed immediately. Surely your fiance must realize that the cat is leading a miserable life? Can you get a friend to come get the cat and take it to a no-kill shelter, or something? Don't bother asking your fiance's permission since you know what he'll say. I wouldn't normally advocate this kind of underhandedness but really, the poor cat is suffering. Happy cats don't act like that. Also it's most likely got a UTI and needs medical care which I am willing to bet your fiance isn't interested in providing, either.Fiance wont get rid of cat even though its a hazard to our child's health!?just throw the cat away...or you have to make a cat's house.....Its really not good because you are pregnant right now, trust me...You should have a happy life while pregnant...live in stress can effect your baby development....Fiance wont get rid of cat even though its a hazard to our child's health!?
First of all get the cat to the vet to be checked for UTI. If the cat is not neutered, he needs to be. He could be spraying (if not neutered) or have a serious UTI.

Normally neutered males do not spray but can pee elsewhere when sick with a UTI. There is NO need to get rid of the cat because of the kids. Find out if there is a medical reason for the behavior.
Cats 101...limit stress. Stress can cause a perfectly normal cat to do things you never thought it would do. A parent always yelling at it (you), another one that isn't home... Not a good situation. Yelling at a cat after it does something you don't like doesn't do any good. Take the cat to the vet to rule out any medical issues. You and your fianc茅 took responsibility for the cat, own up to it. Make sure nothing is physically wrong with it. Try two litter boxes, some cats are very particular when it comes to their boxes. If you do decide to give it away, never do it without him knowing. How would you like it? But the poster above did have a good question... What will you do if your kid turns out to be a pistol? Give it away too? Never take the cat to a shelter. It will die.

What's the best health insurance for a pregnant woman?

I do not want to rely on the government to take care of my child, but I would like a health insurance that pays most (if not all) of my doctor bills while I'm pregnant and will pay for my child once he/she is here. Who is the best? What's the best health insurance for a pregnant woman?Get a job with benefits. If you are already pregnant the best policy is any policy through an employer. Individual insurance will not accept you if you are pregnant. Even if you are not currently pregnant, as a result of the Healthcare Deform Act most companies have quit offering maternity coverage on individual policies unless the state mandates the coverage. Group health insurance cannot treat pregnancy as pre-existing condition and will cover you.

Should All Children Get Free Health Care?

Should their parent's income REALLY matter? Should a child suffer because their parents make too much money to get free healthcare but not enough to pay it themselves? Please explain why you feel the way you do. Also, do you have kids or any children in your family, or are you one?Should All Children Get Free Health Care?yes.everyone should.my parents were always in the earn to o much to get aid but not enough to afford it themselves category..employers are cutting programs and many families have 2 parents each working full time ,yet no insurance or very limited coverage with extremely high co pays .neither of our jobs offers dental insurance, for example.we payed over 6,ooo dollars in dental for our family last year, braces etc. out of pocket.we send money for war and so forth, but our own people are paying for impossibly expensive private insurance or are not offered plans at work.im a former nurse, and saw a lot of good but heavily burdened families.we have the capacity to help or cure them, but they havent got the money to pay for it!Should All Children Get Free Health Care? No, not all. I believe that there should be free health care for those who need it, so their parents don't have to decide between getting them vaccinated or eating. Those in a lower income household should not be forced to make such decisions. Now, this is not to say the parents in a higher income bracket should not get some help with the children's health care, but they should have to pay some sort of premium that should be based on their income. I think it unfair for those of us who have decided or have had it decided for us not to have children to have to pay for health care for those irresponsible parents who would rather spend their money on luxury items rather than take care of their children. I do not have children, but I have younger nieces and nephews, and I grew up in a single parent home with my little sister, so I know how people can struggle. I've seen it myself.Should All Children Get Free Health Care?We all should get free health care (it isn't free, but paid with taxes) Other countries can do it, there is really no reason we can't as well. Except that some health insurance corporations won't profit as much - that is the only thing stopping it. They post billions in profit - and we get the low life expectancy rates. Not very fair.

It would be nice if we actually got something that benefits us for our taxes, it would help he economy and we could stop being so stressed out about our futures.Should All Children Get Free Health Care?
YES if there parent make less than 15 dollars an hour at forty hour weeks. I am a single parent and I have full insurance on them, I may struggle sometimes but they come first no matter what
