How is Asphergers Syndrome diagnosed in a child -UK?

Our son is 7 and we have noticed for quite some time thing's haven't been quite right...we have a referral to a Child Mental Health place CAHMS and wanted to know how they diagnose this?

The main investigations the Doctors will do are sight and hearing tests, chromosome analysis and IQ Testing for older children.How is Asphergers Syndrome diagnosed in a child -UK?they ask a lot of history questions, lots of nerve related questions, examine the child, and watch the child. Often they will also do an MRI or other brain scan.



Aspergers (there is no H in it), is on the autism spectrum, so they need to make sure it's mild enough to be classified as aspergers, and not full blown autism.
