If microwaves are dangerous for health how can a child eat a warm meal at school, tricks besides thermos etc.?

no cafeteria, no microwaves at my child`s school, other than sandwiches what to makeIf microwaves are dangerous for health how can a child eat a warm meal at school, tricks besides thermos etc.?What's wrong with just cold sandwiches? There are lots of different kinds you can make. My mom packed my lunches all through school, it was always sandwiches, cut up fresh veggies, fresh fruit, and a small container of milk. She packed it in an insulated lunch box with ice pack to keep the milk cold.If microwaves are dangerous for health how can a child eat a warm meal at school, tricks besides thermos etc.?
Microwaves aren't dangerous for health. However, most elementary schools do not have microwaves available for children because of injuries from overheated foods. They don't have the time to monitor children using the microwave or state regulations may prevent their use by children.

Stop mollycoddling your child. Geeze, kids have been bringing sandwiches to school daily for DECADES without harm. If you can't bring yourself to allow your child to use a thermos, then skip it. Just set up a cold meal. Sandwiches, veggies and a fruit. Done deal.

To Poster Dawk - some public schools are eliminating their hot lunch programs due to budget cuts at the state level. Students have the option of a cold lunch to buy (sandwich, choice of fruit, vegetable sticks and milk) plus a cookie or peanut butter square. Everything is made at a centralized kitchen and delivered to the school. One lunch lady vs. 4 as well as reduced costs for prep. Sign of the times. If microwaves are dangerous for health how can a child eat a warm meal at school, tricks besides thermos etc.?You are right to say that microwaves are dangerous to health, people who say otherwise know nothing about non-ionizing and ionizing radiation (see link below). Other than a thermos, I can't really give you any ideas. There are large thermoses out there that can fit a whole mealIf microwaves are dangerous for health how can a child eat a warm meal at school, tricks besides thermos etc.?
If the teachers at your school think that micorwave ovens are a health hazard - then they need to be fired and replaced by teachers who passed a high school physics class.

IMO - it is more likely that the reason there are no microwave ovens is they are worried about children injuring themselves if they spill hot food/drink on themselves. If microwaves are dangerous for health how can a child eat a warm meal at school, tricks besides thermos etc.?Maybe they make thermous style bowls? I've never looked for anything like that. Check a specialty store that sells only utencils, cookware, etc. Ask around and see what type "insulated" things you can find.

Microwaves never hurt me LOL. I agree though, schools don't allow kids to use them.

Why is there no cafeteria? Private school? If microwaves are dangerous for health how can a child eat a warm meal at school, tricks besides thermos etc.?
You are starting with a false assumption. Microwaves are not dangerous to health.
I would put things like soup or chicken and rice in a thermos. Salads and chicken and stuff like that.
