Is anyone ttc, pregnant or had a child with a diabetic husband?

My husband is diabetic and we are going to be ttc this month and i just thought i'd do some research and OMG the potential issues this causes are pretty dire.

Reduced implantation rates, increase miscarriage rates and childhood illnesses including cancer, etc.

Basically the sperm can be programmed all wrong.

I was just wondering if anyone has a diabetic husband and how you feel it might have affected your pregnancy and the health of your child.

maybe it didn't seem to have any effect at all?Is anyone ttc, pregnant or had a child with a diabetic husband? My mum's first degree family all have diabetes -- I mean my mum, her brothers, sister and parents all have diabetes. But my cousins/brothers and I don't have diabetes or any other health issues. Some of my first cousins are 30+ and are perfectly healthy; even their own children are fine.

So while my mum, uncles and auntie all may have inherited diabetes, none of the children or grandchildren did. Therefore, while diabetes has a biological factor it also have a strong environmental factor.

To sum up: Don't worry, you'll all be fine! :-)Is anyone ttc, pregnant or had a child with a diabetic husband? My boyfriend is diabetic, and we are trying for a baby, it's been 5 months we've been trying and nothing has happened, well i didn't even no this but i had a chemical pregnancy and lost it threw thinking about it all day and getting stressed..Is anyone ttc, pregnant or had a child with a diabetic husband?my husband got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in january (my dad has also had it for approx 17 yrs) we were just about to start ivf so we told the fertility nurse and she said not to worry.

we've had our first go of ivf and there were no complications with his sperm or anything and none of the doctors or consultants said anything about there being any risks to baby.

so i wouldn't worry too much about what you read on the internet, gl xxx
