The new legislation has increased premiums to be paid by the families of undocumented immigrant children to enable them stay enrolled in the health care scheme of Washington.



It may be worth mentioned that as per the proposal by Governor Chris Gregoire, as many as 26,000 undocumented immigrant children were to be axed from Washington鈥檚 health care program. In addition, the earlier plans by the Senate aimed to bring down enrollments of such children too.



The proposal received unanimous approval from the Senate.



Currently, nearly 725,000 children are covered under the health care plan including US citizens, US residents and undocumented immigrants in this US state, reveals the data by the Department of Social and Health Services.Are children of immigrants living in Washington covered under the health plan for getting health care ?Yes.
