Am in my late 20's and my partner is 50 this yr what kind of problems would my child have health wise due to?

nothing.... It has nothing to do w the fathers age. It only has something to do with your age (mother) and both of your medical background/histories.

I have friends that are 20's and married to men that are 50's even 60's and their kids are pretty healthy!

By the way 2 of the person below me saying that fathers age could affect the baby is actually just a theory not a fact...

I did visit the website and its not proven to be a fact cause there is no conclusion to the research..and other website i visited stated that further work is necessary to confirm this interpretation about the age factors of father affecting the babies it is still not 100% guaranteed..Therefore it is a theory not a fact.

Geez this people just copied and paste websites without actually reading them making them look like an idiot.Am in my late 20's and my partner is 50 this yr what kind of problems would my child have health wise due to?Due to what?Am in my late 20's and my partner is 50 this yr what kind of problems would my child have health wise due to?
No promblems at all! age doesn't matter from a male! only women like if you were 50 and having a baby there could be some promblems but other then thatyour baby who be fine! Even your doctor will tell you that! Mine told my sister that cause she is also having a baby with an older man! it has nothing to do with age!Am in my late 20's and my partner is 50 this yr what kind of problems would my child have health wise due to?None really. It is the womans eggs that run out and age. Men make new sperm constantly. They don't use "old" sperm. So a child can have health issues from having an elderly mother, but not from an elderly father.
doesn't it freak u out 2 be with some1 that could be ur dad?Am in my late 20's and my partner is 50 this yr what kind of problems would my child have health wise due to?He might come out like Benjamin Button. Just kidding. You're young. and healthy I assume, so since you're the one carrying the child the Baby would be Fine. If you were the one who was 50, then you'd be at risk for complications. But your partners age won't have any negative effects on your baby. Congrats!Am in my late 20's and my partner is 50 this yr what kind of problems would my child have health wise due to?
Risk of birth defects does increase with paternal age effect too.

Examples of birth defects, cleft lip and palate, water on the brain, dwarfism, miscarriage and decreased intellectual capacity
Children of men age 40 and older have a significantly increased risk of having autism spectrum disorders compared with those whose fathers are younger than 30 years, according to an article in the September issue of Archives of General Psychiatry, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.

Autism is characterized by social and language abnormalities and repetitive patterns of behavior, according to background information in the article. Autism and related conditions, known collectively as autism spectrum disorders, have become increasingly common, affecting 50 in every 10,000 children as compared with five in 10,000 two decades ago. This increase is partially due to higher levels of awareness and changes in diagnosis processes, but could also reflect an increase in incidence of autism, according to the authors. Older parental age has previously been linked to abnormalities in the brain development of children; however, few studies have effectively examined the effect of mothers' and especially fathers' ages on autism.

Abraham Reichenberg, Ph.D., of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, and Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, and colleagues evaluated this association in children born during the 1980s in Israel. All men and three-fourths of the women born in these years were assessed by the draft board at age 17, during which time any psychiatric disorders were recorded. Dr. Reichenberg and colleagues obtained draft board information and the age of the father for 318,506 individuals; age of the mother was available for 132,271 of those.Am in my late 20's and my partner is 50 this yr what kind of problems would my child have health wise due to?
Your husband's age? It is dependent, genetically, upon what both of your short comings are, genetically speaking. The biggest shortfall for your child is that your husband will be almost 70 when he/she graduates high school. My husband and I are 49 and 45 and we had a late "oops" baby, (18 months old now), and although we both have 23 and 19 y.o. we have discovered that we are tired and sad that our bodies aren't the same as with the other kids. The plain fact is, however that we won't be around very long for her or our grandchildren, nor for that game of softball.

I do have to admit, however this time around we both agree that the "older adult" parenting has it positive aspects. Neither of us are up tight about most anything that happens and our patience is much greater. Sounds like you will have a great balance of energy and experience to give to your child. Just remember that loving them and each other is the most important!!
no problems except for his/her dad will be as old as the hills when they're only like 15... how embarrasing. His friends are going to think thats his grandpappy.
the older the father the greater the risks of autism and birth defects. Anyone that tells you different isn't up to code on their news. Soon as both mother and.or father hit 28 your chances start going up of risks. Just a part of life. Not saying anything will happen and you can do tests in the first trimester to check for possible things that are wrong.
